Steam Summer sale - 19-30th June

Not sure I can agree. Years ago we had a kind of monopoly from STEAM. The competition was not very fierce. Key sites weren't very used. Now you even have a lot of different FRM (Origin, UPlay) and a lot of programs (there is playfire, Capsule and Desura, apart from the standard Orgin and UPlay). Also, before sales were kind of a big deal. People used to wait ages for deals. Now you have pretty much year round sales. GMG always have a code or two knocking about, and many websites have the daily things and stuff. This means that other websites reduce their prices before the STEAM sale comes along (which ties in to the 'you have all the games you want' part).

"Years ago" sure, but not two years ago. GMG, Gamersgate, Gamefly, Origin and Uplay (as well as all the dodgy/not-dodgy CD key sellers) have all been around for at least a few years now.

Regarding your second point....I don't know. I think all the games I bought have re-appeared at the same price or lower (if CS:GO won't get a 75% off, that will be a first for me).

I bought the GTA Complete Pack for £4.99 a few years back from Steam, it's never gone that cheap since (that I've seen, anyway).

I'm looking at blacklist but... The graphics look pretty bad, worse than conviction. For me a lot of splinter cell has always been about atmosphere, not sure how much atmosphere I can get when sam fishers face looks like beat up old bucket.

In my opinion Blacklist was Splinter Cell almost back to original form with a few things added that work really nicely. Still doesn't beat Chaos Theory though!

Always the way, I picked it up not long ago for £4.74. Although if you look at the non-discounted DLC, you can see why they are doing it.

Even at that price I'd have picked it up.
Saw some bad reviews but know at least 1 person who disagrees and says it's worth a playthrough.

What do you make of it?

Caved in and spent a whole £2.19 on Brothers: A tale of two sons. Seems a little out of the norm so why the hell not ;) Got some good reviews too.

Yeah I've played about 50 minutes so far (which is normal for me and a new purchase, could be years before I play it again lol) and it was what I expected really. Just sods law that its halved in price was all I was really saying.

Neither of interest for me so chucked my vote "your" way, good luck getting the game! :)
Good man!

Actually it might be a win-win, Bastion, World of Goo and Awesomenauts for a combined 3 pounds or alternatively Broken Age (Tim Schafer!) for a fiver is pretty great either way :p

Just bought Brothers after seeing TB's WTF video. First game of the sale I've bought, taking it easy this year as my backlog is getting silly now.

This is also what swayed me to be buy the game. A very good review of it without giving anything away! And same here, being very restrained this year also, and it seems like a massive personal accomplishment so far :D
