Steam Summer sale - 19-30th June

Might pick up the Batman game, but besides that there has been nothing of interest and the price drop on South Park was less than expected.

Jesus. Thanks to this sale I have bought the following in the past week (I only had 3 games in my library to start with as I've only just got back into PC gaming).

Hotline Miami
Papers, Please
Euro Truck Simulator 2
Terraria
Rollercoaster Tycoon 2
Payday 2
Mount & Blade Collection
Far Cry 3
Fallout 3 GOTY
Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition
CounterStrike Collection
Bioshock Infinite
Portal

And I STILL have games on my wishlist :(

STEAM. STAHP PLS.

Not much has tickled my fancy this summer. Most of the titles I've already picked up from last year. But Stanley Parable & Euro truck sim 2 have been the two stand outs for me.

I have to admit most of these "Mundane profession simulator" titles still have me a little mystified... Perhaps if I gave one a try I'd find out it's a barrel of fun but I can't bring myself to spend money on one

It's getting silly as well, what's next? "Rubbish Truck Crew Member Simulator 2014"... "Park Dog Poo Bin Emptier Simulator 2014"... "Cinema Toilet Cleaner Simulator 2014"...

No need to wait for the first one, it's effectively here already...

Wud any of you guys recommend Batman Arkham City and Arkham Origins?, I have the first one Arkham Asylum but haven't played it yet.

Thanks

I would just play the one you have to be honest, the sequels are really more of the same (though I haven't played Origins). That's not necessarily a bad thing though, I personally enjoyed Asylum, especially the fighting combo/counter system.

If you enjoy Asylum then you can pick another one up later. Arkham City was released a fair while ago so I imagine it could be picked up fairly cheaply in the future outside of a sale.

Otherwise said, if you buy City and Origins and then find out you don't enjoy Asylum you're triple stuffed!

I read an article on this a while back. These things are amazingly popular in Germany - very often with people who do the real thing as a job. The German psyche is very much geared towards doing a professional and efficient job. It is quite the norm for a bus driver to come home and load up Bus Simulator 2014 or whatever. He (or she) will then take delight in running red lights, swerving on the road, not picking up passengers - in short all the things they can't do during the day!

Would like to know this as well.

I'm only interested in single player content and I see that the DLCs offer "AI Battles" are these single player missions or playing against the AI on multilayer maps?

In regards to the CoH2 DLC's. The mission packs DLC contain various missions based upon certain historical battles from WWII, see mission list when you browse a particular pack. The missions vary from solo to co-op (which can be done with AI players on your side to finish the mission). Most are set or scripted pieces some of the AI battles are indeed similar to picking a map with AI players and winning either through Victory points or annihilation. Some missions you only get certain amount of units while with others you can build base or get a single building whereby you can spawn more if you lose some units. All in all, I personally found them enjoyable and for the most part challenging, not to mention all of them have achievements, and if it 50% or more off in the sale, I think its worth it.

As for commanders/skins/faceplates, IMO relic went a little overboard there, not needed and apparently commanders now can randomly drop at the end of a match as a possible war spoils drop (not much info on it though atm, whether it drop a DLC commander on a permanent basis or temporary, plus war spoils may not be gotten from AI battles). What does annoy me, many DLC commanders are needed if you want to complete certain achievements (I'm a bit of an achievement whore), meaning you will have to skip certain achievements or get lucky with war spoils (still not clear what drops though) or buy the DLC to get those achievements.

So in short, mission packs in sale very much worth it, DLC commanders/skins/faceplates no so much.

Is GTAIV Complete edition worth it for £5.99? Played IV once but on PS3 and havent touched any of the dlc? Also really hoping for a good deal on Starbound. I dont know something about this game intrigues me. How is it folks?
