Steam Summer sale - 19-30th June

Bah, Torchlight 2 wasn't relisted. Missed it the other day due to family spending requirements and Paypal doesn't let me use Pay After Dwliery on Steam any longer (remover on instant goods maybe?).

Mine still applies to games bought from greenmangaming, not sure why Steam is excluded.

dammit, I made it through to the last day of the sale and ended up buying a game I already have. :D
To be fair, I bought Dragon Age Origins Ultimate which includes Origins, Awakenings and all nine DLC for a fiver. I already had Origins and a couple of the DLC, so I've still got a lot for my fiver.

This is more of an observation than a criticism, but there's definitely been a swing on this sale towards offering a base game at a much reduced price, but trying to lure you in with a load of bundled dlc which has a much smaller discount. The bundles are getting the headlines on the Steam main page as well, so you have to go looking for the unbundled original. I assume they think this will be more profitable for themselves and the publishers, which seems like a reasonable goal. The specific hook which is a tiny bit underhand is the fact that if you just buy the base game, you can't later top it up to include the dlc, even at a slight price premium - you'll get completely stiffed on price if you try to add the dlc later.

In the end I was reeled in with Don't Starve and the expansion pack. I found I don't really enjoy the game so wish I'd just bought the base game, but was psychologically manipulated into buying both. No big deal though, I could have loved the game and got more than my money's worth.

Only bought Witcher 2. First steam sale in a long while where I have only bought 1 game. Don't know whether that's just because I've bought everything else before or whether its because it was a poor sale compared to past sales.

I have noticed this too. I have just put the DLC into my wishlist (e.g. Don't Starve) and will pick it up when it is properly reduced.

Hm I'm torn on whether to pick up Dawn of War (14.99)and DoW II Grand Master collection (27.49), I was hoping they or the franchise pack would come up for sale (or if they did I missed it :p).

The latter seems a bit pricey because of all the DLC, the game plus Chaos Rising is only 15 quid but then again the DLC is more than just skins so....maybe it seems so much because 90% of my games on Steam are either Humble Bundles or 75-80% off titles :p

Also I know there are multiplayer issues etc but fair play to the devs they are showing great support for fairly old games, especially so with the first DoW!

Spent around £12-£14. :)

Anyone played Anno 1404?It good? thinking of buying it as i think i would prefer it over 2070.

1404 is pretty darned good.

I completed a few missions and scenarios before my save became corrupt and the story is pretty strong.

I would recommend it, this said I haven't played 2070 (because at the time I had a poor internet connection and its an online only game).
