Steam Summer Sale

Yup and the winner of the last vote isn't on sale and only two options for the next vote  Maybe it'll clear up in a few minutes.

What was the actual winner of the last vote? I voted Primordia.

Strange that theres only 2 options on this round of voting, I'm sure Civ 5 has been up on quite a few sales already.

Bit annoyed that Brave New World is no longer discounted. It was the only reason I voted for Civ 5!

Greenman gaming currently have a 30% off code that can be used with brave new world. Not quite as good as the 33% discount steam had but not much difference, I don't think steam will be repeating their discount during the sale as people got a bit upset.

I played it a bit in the Beta and it was interesting, but didn't enjoy it enough to pay full price for it, much less with a subscription fee on top. Tempted to get it now that it's free to play once you buy it though, it was in a flash sale recently at 75% off, but I stupidly missed it :(

Do the simulation games ever come up?

I would like 2013 Train Sim.

It did do in the Winter sale I think, or spring, not sure. There's a fair few hefty discounts on the TS2013 addons at the moment though, and as they never ever come up in the flash sales/daily deals by themselves, any discount is a good discount.

The only thing these sales make me do is hesitant to buy games outside of the 'sales'.

Knowing that they'd willingly sell these games for -75% and -50% just makes me feel like I'm being robbed when I pay full price for something.

Minority or?

No thats an understandable point of view. Why pay more when you can pay less, right?

If its a game you really want to play right away and its a while till the next big sale, I would say just buy it at normal price. If its a game your only mildly interested in then I would say hold off for a while and grab it cheap when it comes up on sale.

I kind of agree, I would say it's made me think twice about paying full price for some games. Like Don't Starve, the price was silly, but knowing it would come in at 50% in the sales made me wait. I still don't want to buy it lol.

Tempted to buy Football Manager 2013. Not played one for prob 10-15 years  but I remember loosing a big chunk of my life to them at the time.

You mean games that were released years ago (asides from a few indies) and they no longer make a profit on? I dont understand your logic? Games companies have already stated that the success of a game is judged on its opening weeks and little else.

thats like saying I might aswell wait for a game to be in a humble bundle.

Who buys full priced games from Steam anyway?

I will always use GMG or another key site for new titles. Only ever buy from Steam when there's a sale on.
