Steam Summer Sale

I've also taken DW's advice and bought Bastion.

Also followed everyone's advice from last night and bought Dark Souls.

Also bought Rage, cos, you know... GAMEZ!

(I'm going to need a 3rd storage drive imminently...)


EDIT: Just having a look back through my Steam Purchase confirmation emails and realised I've now bought something from the sale on the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th & 18th... Daaaayyyymmnn. This **** gotta STOP!

It's a really refreshing change from almost anything out at the moment. The overarching narrative is really cool, it's been attempted before but here I think the execution is almost flawless. The combat though simple is pretty engaging and for an indie game it's got some nice variation, the builds play quite differently. Though the art style may not be for everyone (I like it personally) I don't think it would stop anyone enjoying the game. The soundtrack is very nice too.

Me too.

I'm trying to buy a few games that I think my 11 year old daughter would like. Some probably won't agree with it but she likes Walking Dead so we were sat round the PC last night playing through Ep2 together. I also bought Mirrors Edge because she liked playing it on the playstation when we had one. She plays Portal 2 a bit to get her used to FPS gaming (she uses arrow keys like me, I have tried to get her to use WASD so she doesn't look like a noob :) ) I bought Bastion in the hope that she might like it too.

If I had to compare it to anything I found it pretty similar to borderlands. You go to a hub , get missions from locals , go to area to complete missions, return to hub to turn in missions perhaps get follow ups if not move on to next hub. Its not really rpg-ie like fallout more fps-ie to use your technical terms :)
 
All these people considering the impossibility of Bastion being rubbish. Oh you. :D
