Steam Summer Sale

im the same with chivalry cant make my mind up though

i swear i played a demo of it and it just seemed really clunky and fairly pants tbh
could have been another medieval game but it was pure multiplayer and u could be archer, mace, lance and so on and u could unlock weapons just seemed the blocking was poor and the fighting just seemed clunky and u always got grouped up on so u may kill one person but then died

what gets me is if it was this how can so many people rave on about it

hmmmmmmmm would love to be wrong as i would like a good medieval game

You're probably thinking of war of the roses ... Chiv is much more fun!

So how do these "early access" prices work, e.g. Starforge/Prison Architect. Are you gauranted to get *any* form of discount when the full game is released if you have stumped up for the alpha, or is it how it appears to say i.e. "you are *not* pre-purchasing the full game if you buy early access".

You're buying the game full-stop: you'll get all of the updates right up to the release version. They're usually cheaper than the full release will be to compensate for the fact that you're getting something which is not quite finished, but you don't have to rebuy it when it is released. No guarantees on DLCs though.

Pretty sure you get the full release of said game upon release. Just by paying now you are getting access to the alpha or beta and can play early.

"you are *not* pre-purchasing the full game if you buy early access".

Just spotted the bit where they say that, the reason it's different is because a pre-purchase just reserves your copy for the release day, whereas early access gets you the game *now* in the unfinished state.

I didn't realise steam combined the wallet and card when buying. I had £2.60 from selling those crappy cards so picked up Chivalry for £2.14 !!

Chuffed thought it was going cost me a bank breaking £4.74 :p
