Steam UI Update

Just had the update enforced on me, first impressions are I preferred the old look. So now my games are all squashed over to the side, and worst of all they no longer have their icons displayed next to their name.

You can have icons if you want. Press the + above them... OR change the view (top right)

ok its updated mine to this new ui theme, i dont like it, there no option to turn it back to old one :(, old ui skin was way easier to use.

Ah it's better really, you just need to choose a view you like best. All this complaining is like when they changed facebook. Everyone's ok with it now!

Let's be honest, it really not very different at all. Icons for the games can be displayed in a couple of different ways, and extra info is displayed in a couple of places. You still open it, click on a game icon and run it...

I would have been happy just with names/notes against friends myself, rather than the additional glitz...

This.

No option = :(

Don't know why they felt the need to change the taskbar icon. Now have a light grey icon on a black background rather than a black icon on a black background.

Using this update for the first time tonight.

Crash.

Crash.

Crash.

Crash.

JUST WORK PLEASE

:(

No Vice City for me it seems, can't download it for all the damn crashing.

edit - now it won't even start up anymore, ffs :(

I already used the beta and got used to it, I'll miss the old steam but the new UI is acceptable, it looks nice in places.
Works fine for me.

I like it, i had the problem where i couldn't select anything from the drop down menu's, but Steam asked me to restart and it fixed it for me. I like the fact there's a video with the games and the games tab has a screenshot of your game in the background.

Very cool UI.

I'm not a huge fan of the UI I have to say, but I'm glad its faster.

Webkit rendering engine is a massive bonus over Internet Explorer.

I don't really give two hoots about the new UI. I run Steam, see my list of games.... And *shock horror* click on one to run it...

I don't really care what the colours are, or how many things are whiz banging around the application...

Personally I don't:-
a) See why people are getting annoyed at the new interface.
b) See why people are getting excited at the new interface.

yep, i generally have the main steam window open less than 30 seconds.

most of the game i use are on the right click menu of the systray icon so hardly ever open it.
