Steam under DDoS attack

someone needs to develop a fist that flys out of the screen and punches morons like this tbh, i for one would buy the button that enables these type of muppets to get a good smack in the face.

a dDos attack is about having a sustained data flow which can exceed the bandwidth of the server(s) of course the dDos attacking can fluxuate, so on occasions you can get logged in etc.

It's a pain.

This.

The moment I can transmit a fist over TCPIP, it's open season on a hell of a lot of people!

Though if a DDOS was going on, the fist might not carry enough weight.

Back to the drawing board.

One person can perform a DDoS attack.. the same person can be very hidden if they want to be..

There isn't just one Steam login server, just like there isn't just one downloads server.. And I can bet you they don't process logins and downloads on the same servers either.
Hence why you can download at a very fast speed when others can't login.
Hence why you're able to login when another user is not able to..

If I had that power I wouldn't see any fun in it. Same goes for cheaters online you gain nothing either kids or virgins with no girlfriends and too much time to themselfs

So if those DerpTrolling guys admitted to doing it, why doesn't Twitter release the identities and let Valve & every other company that has products available via Steam file charges against them?

This world is pathetically soft.

I don't think they would have put their real identities in when creating their accounts, nor do I think they would've used their home networks to login!

I do agree that the social media giants do need to do more about it though.. Shut their publicity down by closing off their Twitter accounts.

yeah that what I was saying

looks like it's happening again, everyone was just kicked out of game and steam.

Error Code: -118

Unable to connect to server. Server may be offline or you may not be connected to the internet.

They've been hitting everyone, not just steam, even Blizzard and Wargaming (your talking 10's of millions of service users between them) have been hit the past week

Probably just the new kids on the block, their just going for maximum exposure... i mean given your talking 100's of millions of gamers which use all of those various services
