Steam Xmas Sale 2018

Thanks but isn't that "Humble Monthly" a subscription service, unlike that "Humble Bundles"?

It is but you can cancel it whenever you want. So sign up this month, you can cancel as soon as you are subscribed. Plus you will gain access to whatever extra games they announce at the end of the month and it costs you less than buying on Steam. I sign up for the odd month here and now if anything looks good value.

Yes it's a sub service, but if you pay that 1 month you can cancel when you get the games.

Fair enough, thanks.

The Division is in the sale for £6, which imo is an absolute steal of a price if you've got a few friends to co-op the game with.

Never played this. Its totally passed me by and have not really read up on it. £6 seems cheap though, but can you play it solo? Its incredibly confusing with all the DLC too, is any of that worth it?

I've got mostly everything I want from the sales over the past years however Mafia III I certainly could do with. It is currently and has been recently on sale for £8.74 but for the base game only. Would prefer if they chucked in some of their overpriced DLC with it so I'll keep an eye on it for now. I am a big fan of the series and whilst 3 wasn't all that - it certainly had great music, a well crafted world and a decent story to detract from the repetitive gameplay.

It was good while it lasted. The Steam sales used to mean something & contained many bargains of recent games up to 75% off. Long gone are those days nowadays its all preset by the publishers to apply the discount based on when they have to hit sales targets for the quarter.

Valve better do something soon (like go back to making decent PC games with the billions they have harvested from PC gamers!!) as all the big new upcoming PC games will be using their own publisher platforms going forward bypassing Valve altogether.

Don’t forget to check the other stores like Origin and Uplay. Especially the latter if you have enough points for a further 20% off.

You can play it solo but if you can group with someone, thats when its at its best. Tbh, the 3 major dlcs, Survival, Underground and Final Stand are all pretty decent but of those 3 I would say that Survival and Underground are the best two. Even without the dlc, for £6 its got a whole lot of content.

True, theres some good deals on Uplay at the moment (even more so if you have those 20% further off points), for example :

AC:Odyssey - £24.99 (£20 if you use your points)
Farcry 5 - £20 (£16 if you use your points)
The Division - £6 (£5 if you use your points)
Watch Dogs 2 - £12 (£10 if you use your points)
South Park Fractured Butt Whole - £12 (£10 if you use your points)
Rainbow Six Siege - £10 (£8 if you use your points)

Blaster Bit XL looks like a bit of fun, cheap as chips, too.

Some others which I have been following which might be worth a punt in the sale are:

Crystal Rift (dungeon crawler);

Barony (another dungeon crawler type game);

Dungeon Souls (roguelike dungeon crawler);

Hectic (indie fps);

Instant Dungeon (arcade indie roguelike);

Iron Fisticle (2d indie action);

Kingsway (arcade retro roguelike);

Last Rites (fps);

Pixel Dungeon (roguelike adventure rpg);

Doomed (fps);

I'm tempted by this. I actually bought it on PS4 when it came out at launch because none of my PC friends bought it. I had fun but I didn't love it and it actually remains one of the only games since Fifa 2008 that I've traded in (Skewed by it's one of the very few console games I've bought in years at the time).

If I can tempt some of my PC friends to pick it up before the new one comes out I'd be tempted.

Also thinking of either AC: Odyssey or Origins as I haven't played either yet.

Is ass ins origins season pass worth getting on uplay. I have barely touched origins something like 10 hrs and want to get back into it at some point.

Picked up Far: Lone Sails. Nice game so far. Really like the atmosphere.

Also got Divinity Original Sin 2. Never actually played these games before, but thought I may give it a try. Am I missing much by skipping the first?
