Definitely looks like they're deliberately holding stock back for their own webshop... and charging ridiculous prices for it.

How very cheeky and greedy of Thrustmaster. T300 is the one I want, so I've had to get from an alternate place in Germany... only £240 delivered though, but I'd rather have got from OCUK. This is the 'Elite Dangerous joystick' debacle all over again!

to an extent yes.

with that I managed to get a fair amount of stock.

for this i have been very busy with other projects which meant we were sadly unable to get allocation.

that said, the t300 has basically been in stock once at UK distribution since it has been released.

What's the best method to clamp down the G27? Does it come with good enough ones?

it comes with them and they are good.

Yes the existing clamps at either side of the wheel are very good and enthusiastic movements does not even budge the positioning.

In fact you have to be careful not to overtighten the clamps at either side as the first time I used it I struggled to get it off :D I go to the gym 3 times a week for 90 minutes and so I put it down to being sure it never moved and it didn't, oops ;)

I would say it's more important to ensure your pedals are being placed on thick fitted carpet and not a mat otherwise it will move about. I placed the pedals up against a plastic box full of books that was against the wall to get the perfect reach and you're set.

price increase and delay of ETA for the t500RS

imagine being one of the largest steering wheel peripheral suppliers in the WHOLE WORLD and not having any stock around the launch time of the BIGGEST RACING GAME RELEASE IN 3 YEARS.

Wasn't the T500RS more than £100 cheaper than its current RRP not too long ago?

I also cannot see how it's twice the price of a G27. Even more when you add a shifter.

well

im gonna do something i dont often do

our buy price on this sku has increased significantly over the past year.

so much so that we have actually just piled marketing money into the cost to allow us to hold the price.

this has now ran out along with the stock.

the next batch will be here at a much larger landed price than we were paying before.

I am doing everything in my power to get this sku back to 350 again.

in terms of quality though, the g27 and the t500rs are not even in the same league. it really is twice as good, but you have all been spoiled by low RRP on that product for so long.

G27 has gone down in price too from 280. so g27 goes down, t500 goes up. gulf is bigger which will impact perceived value.

t500 is still the best retail available wheel.

I'd contend that... based on the quality of the T300, which is excellent and virtually the same wheel as the T500. Apart from the pedals, which are minus a clutch and on a cheaper feeling base (pedals are still metal though)... but if you attach them to something like the Wheel Stand Pro (also excellent btw), there isn't much you can complain about. I'd only make a case for the T500 if you have a shifter and must have a clutch pedal... otherwise T300 all the way. Just a shame you can't get it in the UK!! :(

Rjkoneill, is there an ETA on the T300 GTE? I contacted the shop last week on live chat and they expected them at some point this week, is that still the case?

no, they were perhaps confused with another model.

I am the product manager for peripherals so I know exactly what is happening with them.

still no eta on the t300 as yet.

Any update on ETA's for the TX wheel? Ordered one last week and looking forward to getting my hands on it.

should be this week hopefully.

the base is very similar in feel but the quality level of the T300 and TX Racing pedals are vastly inferior to that of the T500 unit.

Interesting to see the price when you finally get some stock of the T300RS. If it is a decent price then might order it though Thrustmaster seem to have really screwed up (or profited massively) over their wheels with PCars being released. I can only find one place in the UK with stock and it is £330 which is far too much for a T300.

I agree the pedals let it down in comparison, but if you don't need a clutch they are still very good. There are other options anyway, including Fantatec Clubsport and the T3PA Thrustmaster set, which are well priced.
