Steorn Demo - ReVisited

Okay, so it has come to light that Steorn are going to demo the Orbo (spelling?) at the end of this week in the Kinetica museum. Well from what the evidence points to.

So who is going to go and marvel at "free energy"?

EDIT: As of 15/12/09

Steorn is pleased to announce that public demonstrations of its controversial Orbo technology will begin today in Dublin and continue for the next six weeks.

Steorn have supposedly developed a free energy machine using electro magnetics that tap into some quantum power source. Very roughly speaking as I don't have the slightest iota of comprehension when it comes to it. It's now been peer tested by 10 randomly selected independent scientists and engineers and proven to work. They are demonstrating it this week according to the OP.

Best case scenario could mean the end of our energy worries. Worst case is probably just another black hole.

I don't think the validation stuff is finished yet.

tbh I don't think it's going to come up with any positive results.

I doubt it. Oil does more than just provide energy, fertilisers, plastics etc all come from oil, and I doubt anybody is going to invent an electric plane any time soon :p

true it has many many uses, but i guess it depends on what this free energy can be used for? transport = about 50% oil usage (that alone is a huge dent in the prices).

Can it produce heat?

This is one of those things that you just wish was true.

However I've got a gut feeling its going to be a hoax, a con, or somethig like that.

These things have been claimed before and fallen over when put under rigerous tests. I hope its not the case, but I suspect this will just the same.

I'll believe it when I see it working. Or see reports in peer-reviewed journals.

"Free energy" breaks all fundamental principles of quantum mechanics.

Cold fusion, anyone?

Very hard to believe, even if the device does provide free energy, are they going to be able to extract this energy and use it for useful purposes.

Ah thanks i forgot about this, looks interesting and i doubt its a hoax, its been going on for so long now and with so much is counting on its success, it would be quite a dangerous hoax to do i imagine, a lot of people would be quite angry to put it mildly.

Im not sure if they're really claiming overunity or tapping into a source of free energy, there is a difference and it gets mixed up all the time when it comes to this sort of thing, i think most people use both names for the same thing though which imo is wrong, solar gives you free energy as you do no work apart from the building of the panel to get the energy, same with other renewables, people all to often miss the fact some of these devices could be extracting energy from an unknown source which would look like overunity but actually just be a renewable source of free energy.

It could be that magnetic energy is actually constantly flowing through all things and not just back on its self like we see, they've just managed to configure it so it can be tapped in a unique way, theres a lot we still don't know about magnetism.
