Steorn Demo at Kinetica

I don't have a link but last time i was in Paris i saw a gadget that exhibited this effect in a shop under the louvre. Basically a small light globe suspended spinning in mid air by a magnet above it.

Surprisingly stable.

It's not so hard to make such a system stable. Basically, you need a ring magnet. With this, you can create a small 'basin' of magnetic potential underneath it, and hence a stable equilibrium for a small enough ball. If the magnet is sufficiently strong, the magnetic force will dominate over the gravitational.

You do, however, need a second magnet underneath in order to create SHM in the floating object. Without the second magnet there would be no correcting force to stop the ball from either falling, or moving up to the magnet.

Any idea why none of the big news corporations are covering this?
I guess they will when it is proven real, for now I guess they don't want to give air time to what may be a total flop.

Anyway since when did the news reflect what really matters...

How come they have managed to develop a machine that produces infinite energy, but they can only get 1 of 4 web cameras to work?

Hmm, true. The angle looks wrong too, it seems head-on, when it should be at an angle to it and further away....

Over the years there have been many claims of free energy created by just the right configuration of magnets.

It usually involves employing a "magnetism-blocker", which invariably doesn't actually do what they think it does.

If they had actually made a machine that works, then it would be simple enough to make a prototype (that works), put it in a sealed box and get it to power something (a light bulb, radio etc) inside the box. Allow people to inspect the prototype first for batteries.

This whole "Jury Led" business is just silly. It works or it doesn't.

at work so cant watch it :( but keep me updated, really intrested in this. what are the bets for it being delayed again?

This is starting to look like a crok. Only camera 4 is working, and its just filming big ben and the millennium wheel.

Oh and dont tell me, at 11am they will have to put it back again another 5 hours.

Plus whats with the 'simplified' version. Show us the full whack jobbie. Whats the point otherwise. :o

lol - technical difficulties - you mean...... it doesn't work???

lol ye..

designer 1: hey did anyone actualy check this?
designer 2: ooo...errrmmm...**** better delay this till we can beat the laws of physics.
desinger 1: cool...want another toke?
