Steve Fossett Missing: Help find him by searching satellite imagery

What a pointless exercise.

A computer should be able to do that task in a matter of seconds.
it's not as easy as people think. The plane could be a wreck.Taking many forms. from a burn hole, a near complete plane, or white dots spread over a large area. The human eye is much much better at this than a computer.
I assume they have taken recent satalite images. I do agree however that he is likely dead, if nothings been activated.

It seems to me like needing to activate a gps transmitter, defeats the point of having one. If you actually get into any trouble, chances are you aren't actually going to be able to activate it.

There's loads of way to get into trouble with no physical harm to yourself.
Problem is how do you activate a beacon? Many of these our multi-purpose, so it' impossible to decide how to implement.

I found something which was definitely the shape of a plane (quite a few pixels though so wasn't very crisp) and had similar dimensions to the plane shown in the example photo. I could only see the option to view already submitted image and had to bloody sign up for it so I just gave up. They should make it more hassle-free.

Look like wrong type of plane, but email them the cords.

It is easy, if you already got an account with amazon, you simply login.

Fantastic, you take the time to input everything into google earth, actually spend time trying to find the damned plane, potentially find it (or something at least) and possibly have the hope that it may possibly be him or at least aid them in finding him.... yet because you simply need to create an account you won't bother to tell them where you found it.... Brilliant!

If your that annoyed that you wont sign up to an account to help, then just post the Lat/Lon or Coordinates here and let someone else sign in/sign up and post it.

I tried but it sent me to a page with a scary new set of t&c including allowing them to transfer money to and from my bank acc. It seems you have to sign up to this mechanical turk subsite which sounds like an interesting idea but appears to be very much aimed at US users. I think the t&c even say that you have to have a US bank acc to sign up.

How are other uk people signing up to this?

just accept the T&C you don't get paid for doing these ones.
