Quite the TL;DR, but..

I haven’t watched all the WAN show video as it’s too early in morning to stomach Linus (not that I particularly like the guy anyway), but it may come across as Linus going WAAAAAHH and lobbing his toys out of the pram for getting called out (again), and he’s still salty from GN exposing his poor journalism last time (well deserved imo).
 
Can't watch the video right now but if this is still GN on the Honey thing the problem is GN had a point last time about their reviewing practices, this time is really comes across like he's just targeting LTT when it's something dozens if not hundreds of channels were in.

All the YouTube folk dropped honey a few years ago because it was widely reported at the time they were stealing affiliate revenue from them.

I get why they all dropped them but I’m not sure why a few specific channels are being called out for not making a specific video about it - it was widely reported at the time by others.

It’s just drama for dramas sake.

The first time GN went after Linus was because one of Linus’ employees made an off the cuff comment about GN in a guided tour they were doing which was caught in camera. GN decided to have their revenge, and it all got a bit silly.

YouTube drama gonna YouTube dramas and it seems there is a lot of toys being thrown out the pram at the moment.

GN called out Linus for quality issues relating to their testing.

Steve is just a clown selling ragebait at this point. He laps up the simps
 
I just watched the GN clip above, for someone that holds them selves out to be the bastion of journalistic integrity in the tech space, that clip was massively taken out of context and a narrative put around it that even the daily mail would have been proud of.

That segment he clipped from was a good 15 mins long and you’d need to watch the entire thing to understand why he said what he said.

For someone that pretends to be a journalist, that was a proper fail and deserves to be called out for it.

It's a bit crappy of GN to publish the letter IMO. Having a jab at Linus over being more of an entertainment channel than a "serious" tech channel is also pretty pointless.
 
GN and their fans like to think of GN as being this ‘halo journalism channel’ when it’s always super emotive, more akin to the likes of the Daily Mail / Daily Express.

Needs to stick to the facts and stop the drama.

‘Having integrity’ is not using every single piece of information, especially private communications, for needless mudslinging and points scoring. At times, that can be the very opposite of integrity.

Some of their ‘exposing of poor practices’ is good, but I generally don’t like how they go about it.

I understand GN dilemma though - his videos attract a 99.9% male audience who long format videos of looking at graphs. The expose video he did on ASUS probably earnt him a years worth of revenue; so he is just doubling down on rage bait videos. Money is a difficult drug to get off of!

It's a shame his fab video was quite good. Although I'm pretty sure he made his staff fund their own flights :cry: :cry:
