Stick to OEM alloys or get some CSL reps?

No, £1050 inc VAT without tyres from dealers. £1600 would be a complete rip-off! You don't have to tell the man who's bought five sets since getting his CSL ;)

My BMW dealer must have been ripping me off then with a quote for £2400 including tyres.

Sure I know, I have :)

Found a nice piccy of a Z4 Coupe with CSL boots on!

Yummy

Replica wheels are not as well built as OEM's, are not built to the same standards, are heavier, and normally not quite identical, either.

Over here they usually cost £500 with a set of 18" Linglongs and as a result find their way onto 500 quid 3 Series which the owner wishes to 'bling up'.

Genuine or quality aftermarket is the only way. Replicas fail.

WHAT!

When did this happen?

I demand pics.

I sent you a quick msn at the weekend but you must have missed it! :D

Basically I've been looking for a e92 in my budget range with the spec I want but nothing has been appearing. I was originally looking at Z4s as well but I found it hard to find one with both nav and auto which I wanted. I always have a look in my local dealer to see what they have and last week I went in and there was a dirtyish sapphire black 3.0si Sport Z4, so I took a closer look! It had all the toys I wanted so I went in to see if it was for sale and it had just come in!

They let me take it out for half an hour, and that was more than enough to easily convince me that actually, I would prefer a Z4 to a 3 series.

The long and the short of it is that my 325Ci needs 4 new tyres, an inspection in 400 miles and MOT on 7th Feb so when they offered me a pretty reasonable trade in price for it I just had to go for it.

I have a couple of pics of it in the dealer uncleaned, but I'll do some proper pics for a thread at the weekend. ;)

Another Windsor meet in the summer? (Yeah I know you've moved but I'm lazy ;))

agreed about the weight, i weighed the forged alloys i had on my e36 M3 and they were considerably lighter than my m8s reps by about 12kg's per wheel

Yeah - I'd have guessed CSL wheels were in the region of that price.

The dealer probably sells the CS and CSL wheels which iirc look identical but the CSL ones are lighter, hence the price differences.
