Still Game

Right up there with Only Fool IMO. They did have a fall out a few years back and Ford Kiernan's son passed away a couple of years ago so I would imagine he had/has more important things on his mind. Although they did the live show at the end of 2014 I think?

I watched the episode last night where Victor pretends to be ill because he feels his son can never be bothered to contact him. He guilt trips his son into visiting and I found it quite an emotional episode from that respect. Kinda makes you think about aging parents / grandparents and how we quite easily just forget they exist.

I resisted the show for years. I'm not sure why. When I finally sat down to watch it I liked it a lot.

There was an attempt to make an English version, that had some top stars in, called The Old Guys. It lasted for 2 series.

I think I could recite every line in Still Game, seen every episode that many times.

Not sure how well it translates for non-scotches but it’s an amazing show, quite comforting to watch in a way.

Seen it so many times but still one of my all time favorite shows, if not the favorite, I regularly sit down with my 17yr old son and watch a few, we have watched every one a few times over and still laugh at the same bits.

I was one of those who kept saying that it was getting tired and they should stop, now they have stopped I wish they would do a few more lol.

Lets face it every year they will need less and less make up.

The Martin sketch above is a classic.
