Stop, Turbo Time..

Fantastic car, congratulations :).

I have to say I do agree about the spoiler. The Impreza is one of the few cars which doesn't look ridiculous with an ironing board bolted to the bootlid.

Again, echoing the "get a new spoiler" thing. Looks a hundred times better and can't be too expensive, right?

Looks very nice btw. *Jealousy*

So whats it put at the wheels?

Only joking well done on saving up and getting it, I like it. :)

Might spot you driving it sometime.

That looks lovely, no gold wheels either, makes all the difference to the looks with standard coloured rims on, much better.
Another vote for an STI spoiler too.

But does look naked without! Really nice car though, so when does the fettling begin? :p

Congrats....should have got an STI :p Joke, it looks really nice. What exhaust is that on there? Is it standard apart from that?

Here you go! A nice carbon one! Would look lovely in black - go on...........................

Have to disagree with putting an STi spoiler on it. It's a WRX, not an STi and I think the WRX spoiler is nice enough. The WRX has a smaller scoop anyway, so it would be obvious that unless you swap out to an STi scoop, you are trying to make the car look like something it is not.

Personally I'd throw some money at the running gear first.

And if I sound negative, I apologise, the WRX is a logical and brilliant step up from the Sport.

Anytime you are in North Wales, ScoobyDoo69, drop me an email (in trust). We have a few rather tasty routes tailor made for scoobs ;)

Why does it have to be making it something it isn't? Why can't it be about making it look good? Not like we're talking about sticking STi badges on, its just a spoiler. I've got an STi 4 spoiler in the garage for my sport, doesn't mean I want it to be an STi...

North Wales tailors for any car :p After all I did 200k+ miles through there in a Zaffy :o

Just don't get caught DOH 2x SP30s! :(

Whilst I am against the principle of trying to make a car look like a better model, I think in this case it is just necessary to make the car "right". I'm sure by the time he has finished with it it will be STI'esque anyhow :p

Fairy 'nuff. Last time I looked though, Subaru don't offer the STi spoiler on a WRX.

When you pass a newage scoob with an STi spoiler, do you think it's an STi or just resign yourself to the fact it could be a Sport with a silly great wing on the back? IMO, and just mine, the spoiler is a definitive part of the STi.

An Impreza needs a big spoiler such as that of the STI, it just doesn't look right otherwise. It's not pretentious, they should have all left the fatory like that. Methinks somebody has a case of STI elitism ;) :p

I just think "there goes an Impreza with a big spoiler" :D

They've offered it since the bugeye - they even call it an "STI pro spoiler ". But having had a WRX with the low spoiler, I'd have to say: get the high spoiler. It's not the same as putting an STI scoop or STI badges on - most newage owners I know don't like the low spoiler and only put up with it because a) the STI one is £900 for the genuine thing, and b) you need to drill holes in the boot to mount it.

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments.

I wish I could have got an STi.. but well insurance would have been VERY difficult. I got very lucky with insurance, I pit a lot of companies against each other, and because I've got 2 years NCB with another Impreza I was found to be very favourable - I still pay a lot, but not a great deal more than what I pay with the Sport!

Panthro - it's a Blitz Nur Spec R - and it's loud, omg it's loud, but boy does it sound good.

About the boot spoiler... well you see, I would love to change it, BUT I don't agree with the STi spoiler unless I have some different alloys, as I think the WRX alloys just don't agree with an STi spoiler. Nevertheless, it does not mean that I won't go there at some point, maybe when the tyres need changing.

Fettling wise, I think for the time being, I'm happy with it. I'd like a bit more poke, but I know that would not be wise until I get used to it. If I do anything, it will be the STi front bumper spats or a front underspoiler, as I love them so. Lowering to follow after that maybe. But it depends, I can afford to mod as I go quite easily. But it's knowing when to draw the line.

With regards to making it look like an STi... I don't agree, it's different if you put a turbo bonnet on a sport, because well.. you're making it look like a turbo - a sport does not have a turbo. With the spoilers etc, it just has to be done to complete the "Scoobylook" and that includes the bigger scoop, as I may well be getting a big TMIC over a FMIC, but that all depends on what and when I do to it.

Fett - don't worry you're not sounding negative at all :) EDIT - Do you know S.S.S (Simon with the really shiney blue classic)? I've met him a few times he's from wales.

Again thanks for your comments, much appreciated :)

Another bad call on my part.

I'll refrain now from any STi lookalike comments, as long as you are happy and enjoy it. And no, not aware of S.S.S, bit more familiar with some of the Evo drivers around North Wales than I am with some of the scoobs. The invite still stands, a day on the Evo triangle is not to be missed with a few *special* roads thrown in.
