**STORAGE OPTIONS SCROLL TABLETS NOW AVAILABLE!!**

Hello!
Just taken delivery of one of these from yourselves, and it is fantastic.

However, I have followed your instructions to get to the Marketplace, and it doesn't work.
I cannot download any apps - google says I needed to have installed the Google Play app for it to work, or that my machine may not be supported.

Any other suggestions to fix this?

Thanks
Grum

Just received mine this morning and I must admit first impressions were good. But seems mines defective, screen flickers with the charger plugged in and resets if you try to use it whilst charging. :( I sense an RMA request.

Received mine this morning (7") and everything looks and functions properly. Gibbo's instruction in post no. 12 above for the new "Meerkat" (Google Play) works.

The resolution of the screen is what lets this unit down. It could have been better, but for the money and for my intended purpose, it's okay.

Hi there

Market place works fine guys, just follow these instructions:-

1.) Goto Apps, Click "Scroll Apps", Open menu and select settings then click "More Applications"

2.) Goto Apps, Click Widgets, add the "Play Store" widget to your home screen

Below is my preferred way as it adds a direct link rather than a link to an app like the widget does, it also only uses up 1 icon space. Though its a bit more complicated

3.) From your browser go to the Google Play website, it will ask to open with browser or Play Store, open with browser (DON'T select "Use by default for this action") create a bookmark for Google Play, and with the drop down Add to Home Screen, this adds a link directly to the play store on your home screen without a widget. now when you click the bookmark on your home screen you can select "Use by default for this action" and it will open the Google Play Store directly without any hassle.

Hi,
I've just tried the instructions above for the umpteenth time to no avail.
I have a 9.7" tablet, and accessing the play store any way will not allow you to download apps.

I tried 1.) - "more applications" only gives you :-
Complete action using
Browser
Dolphin browser HD
SlideME Marketplace

2.) Going to Apps, Click Widgets, doesn't have a "Play Store" widget

Trying to access play store from the browser just gives you an error message:
You haven't accessed the Google Play Store app (the white shopping bag app icon) on your device with your email account

Clicking "learn more" tells me that
my phone or tablet isn't a supported device
or
you dont have the Google Play Store app preinstalled on your device - contact the manufacturer

I have tried to find this app online to no avail

3.)From your browser go to the Google Play website,-it does not ask to open with browser or Play Store. there is no choice to open with browser.

I can create a bookmark for Google Play, and with the drop down Add to Home Screen, this adds a link directly to the play store on your home screen without a widget.

however, when I click the bookmark on my home screen, I get no option to "Use by default for this action" it does not open the Google Play Store directly, without any hassle.

It does go to the play store, but I get the same error message when trying to download apps.

If I try to download apps from othe sites, the SlideME site opens automatically, and I get an error message saying the app can't be found.

Help please!

Did you choose to open the browser from the list? when I tried it it takes you to the google.play site. I Can't help beyond that I'm afraid.

Yup, tried that. I can get to the Google play site, but can't download any apps.
frustrating stuff. Thanks for the help, though.
Do you have the 9.7" ? if so, can you download the apps from google?
Ta

It's probably not got the Google Play APK installed, go here and download it, then install it with the file manager.

I'll have a go myself tomorrow, assuming DPD get a grip and deliver my tablet!

I do, although hopefully for not much longer (providing I ever get my RMA ) I've tried get the apps from google and can say I have the same problem as yourself. Installing the play apk on results in a error. I have had some luck installing .apk files from other websites though. Browsing the market for ideas the googling the .apk

better, but still not there -
It's really frustrating - it looks as if the app is downloading, but then I get a message saying that the app will be installed later....

If i then try to load market - I get the message "Unfortunately, Market has stopped"

Thanks guys - decided to return the Scroll - It doesn't do what I thought it would. It's a pity, as apart from the Google play / poor app store issue, it's a nice tablet. hope you have better luck.

I phoned them and they emailed a RMA within 5 mins.

It's crazy tho... there must be a way of getting the play store to work, somehow?

Edit... I think I'll ask for an RMA too, it kind of defeats the object if you have to mess about.

Shame tho, as it's a nice tablet otherwise.

It's very simple to get the Playstore on this tablet after all...

Grab a copy of the playstore vending.apk and copy it to the
/system/app
folder.

Clear the cache and reboot the tab then set it up with your gmail acc and you're in there.

Use ES File Explorer but you need to set it to read hidden files and enable "up to root", "root explorer" and "mount file system" all from the settings of that app.

Any feedback on whether these are any good or not yet?
I'm chillaxing in Cuba next month and the wife is badgering me to buy another Kindle for poolside reading, but I'd rather get a cheap Droid tablet if it's any good.
