Straight friends kicked out of a Creation Museum

Not only the fact that the two people were just friends is totally stupid, even if they were gay, its the 21st century. It's Christians like this that I just don't get. I don't believe that is says anywhere in the Bible that you are not allowed to be in a relationship with someone of the same sex, or to even have friends of the same sex.

I do know that it does say "Thou shall not murder".

I would partially understand that it is their beliefs if the two were actually a couple, but the fact that they are both straight it too much of a mind boggle.

A straight atheist humanist actually ;)

Just found this article to be more of a "whimsical technicolour raincoat fruity sort of way" in establishing the facts with biased opinion mixed in the meatspin :P and/or lemonparty.

Humanism and atheism is pretty much the same thing mate.
Don't think you can be a humanist without being atheist.

Um not quite.

I could hardly start a museum that didn't admit jews, blacks, woman, muslims could I? Same thing.

If it doesn't use any tax payer funding they should be allowed to do what ever they want with their own PRIVATE museum. It's not public property.

Hmmmmm.......

Last Supper = Jesus + 12 Blokes + Table + Meal = SAUSAGE FEST!!!!!

:D Genuine LOL have an internet cookie.

From the article I suspect it highly likely that the agenda of the two people was purely to troll, but not to get through the door for that reason is genious. At least it saved them from being shot by some redneck losing their cool and having to proove to his date that he was fair minded.

It's a museum of creationism. What the hell would make you think they'd be remotely amused by people even looking a bit gay?

Leave them to it and ignore them.

However, those businesses should also be required to state exactly who they want and who they don't want as customers, so that it is completely clear to everyone.

I am straight but a business that was explicitly anti-gay, like this, would not get my custom if I had any choice about it - I believe in live and let live. I would have taken exactly the same approach in the 50s and 60s in the USA, when similar businesses were explicitly anti-black.

I love that on the one hand, people are like 'i don't care what goes on behind closed doors, so long as it isnt in my face' and on the other 'How dare you decide what behaviour is acceptable on your own premises, how dare you'.

You can't have it both ways. Its somebodies property, somebodies musuem, they have every right to say who can and cannot be there, for whatever reason, because its Their Property. Business has always and will always reserved the right to refuse to serve a customer for what ever reason. Its just in most cases, they either wont give a reason or will find a reason. Why should 'I refuse to serve you, because i don't like you' be ok but 'I refuse to serve you, because i believe you to be gay' is not?

Damn right! just like farmers on private property should be allowed to force black people to work all day and not pay them. It's not public property!

Ever been turned away from a club? The museum should have just said they were wearing the wrong shoes (and have some vague dress code they can pull out of the filing cabinet for the lawyers).

They should be able to turn away whoever they want, whenever they want. And if it hurts your sensitive gay feelings tough luck. You are free to boycott the museum.

They should be able to turn away whoever they want, whenever they want.

Then they should be required to give a refund.

Otherwise you could do a nice quick scam, open "restaurant" spend a fair bit on advertising and how amazing it is fill your opening night order book with tickets like this place then just turn everyone away for having the wrong shoes and pocket a load of cash for simply some advertising.
