I purchased something on eBay for my GF's son for £80 it was listed with £5 p+p

I've just received a message saying he has posted it but it was £11 due to needing insurance and could I send him the difference.

Is he just being a cheeky git , or is it fair of him to ask.

Tell him you'll pay the extra fee if he agrees to pay an administration charge of £6 for messing you about.

Unless you requested the more expensive postage method then there is no reason he should be asking you to pay extra postage. If you requested it then pay the extra, if you didn't then refuse (politely).

Don't pay him, its his problem. We've all done it before and any normal person wouldn't ask for the difference. He should've researched it properly before listing the item. Unless of course you asked him to send it insured etc after the auction.

This tbh, ive done it myself & took the hit for failing to price up the correct postage, lesson learnt.

Unfortunately he didn't check the price for postage that's his fault if it was an extra £6 in the auction you might not have bought it. Hes trying fair enough but id just say no or ignore it

Its not your problem it cost more.

He should have checked before posting.

This, I got hit with a p+p charge which was almost double what I'd charged on eBay the last time I used it but it was my own fault for not checking properly so I took it on the chin.

Must admit I was shocked with the Post Office, recent price increase.
I has made eBay's already narrow margins even tighter, many items are no longer worth listing.

Seller is in the wrong for requesting more money, as mentioned above he should have checked postal charges before listing the item.

I can't blame the guy for trying to be honest, but at the end of the day it's his problem so it's entirely up to you if you want to pay the extra or not. :)

Dodgy seller. Do not pay him anything. It takes seconds to calculate the postage cost before listing an item.

take delivery then tell him no and hurt him..
