Strange issue when no internet connection

Either because i disconnect the Ethernet / disable networks / or the router needs rebooting my PC acts very strangely when booted. The PC kind of just stalls for 6 minutes every time. I can play a video/music file but windows functions don't work, they just freeze. Thumbnails and folder icons don't get created they just stall and my logitech mouse configured button don't work.

Anyone know what this is all about. Could it be something to do with postgres or VMware, these are softwares i have that are not on my other dual booted system where this does not happen

There should be a clue in the event viewer, also it'd be handy if you mentioned what OS you were running.

try putting windows folder options back to default. type folder options in start menu to open it up and reset to default on all tabs , and run sfc /scannow in command promp running as administrator

Are you mapping to any network drives that might be causing explorer to hang?

sfc /scannow is thew same as disk check no? I am using an SSD, though i had the issue with my raptor to; so i wont do disk check since its bad for an SSD i heard

disk check looks for bad sectors sfc /scannow looks for corrupt system files only

Vmware has bridging drivers which may effect the pc during network outages. Have u tried uninstalling vmware to test?
