Stranger Things (Netflix)

Well, finished it up last night and I really didn't enjoy it. Thought it was easily the most bloated season yet with some of the worst writing the shows had. Why have continuity when you can just retcon characters pasts through lazy memory loss tropes.

I'll watch part 2 because it's still a good schlocky TV show, but now it's JUST that. Shame really.

3 episodes in, there's a lot of slowness and buildup for sure, too many feelings hurt feelings reports being spread over an episode for example which is a waste of time. But, the cinematics are cool, the music is my childhood and the overall dark vibe of this season is really impressive so will keep watching. Doesn't have the original coolness factor of the first season though but it's still good.

You are confused. Mikey and El moved to California whilst the rest all remained in Hawkins including her boyfriend

Even more confusion! Byers Family (Joyce, Will and Johnathon) moved to California and took El with them. Everyone else stayed in Hawkins. During the season Mike joins them in California as a spring break trip. Edit: So does Murray, albeit very briefly.

Best season so far for me. The way it ties in to season 1 and the event prior to that are amazing. Watching the 7 extra long episodes felt like a whole season in itself so I can't wait to see what they do in the final 2 episodes which will surely be over 1 hour each. Loved the 2 new "kids", Eddie and Argyle. Murray really shines this season as well.

Loved it so far. A masterclass in pacing with the longer episodes and every character plays their part in the story equally.

The older I get the less I bother watching, not much takes my fancy but this is superb.

Just finished Ep7. Really enjoyed it, but I can understand why some might think it's a little lazily written, for example, how (or more importantly why) does the music actually save Max? They were given the idea because 001 turned it on when he was killing his family? It feels lazy like they just needed a way the friends could save Max 'Oh, this will do'. I kinda feel like this is a modern-day, dark Scooby Do
