Stranger Things (Netflix)

There’s just too many characters, and that woman (Will’s mum?) does absolutely nothing! She just stands at the side fretting the whole time while doing nothing at all. Don’t get the point of her character.

And I’m finding the constant ‘two people have a moment together while some inspiring music starts in the background’ a bit overdone.

Never rated her as an actress anyway, she strikes me as the type who will rush to do a nude/sex scene after Stranger Things in order to show she is "grown up" now. Shes got some issues imo (as have many child stars before her) , which hopefully she will deal with before they become destructive.

I dont expect many of the kids in the show to have prolific acting careers tbf, comparatively few child actors actually make it in the long run.

I doubt she will do nudey stuff simply because she her has make up or perfume or whatever line which makes her lots of money I hear. Sadie sink I've always thought as the best actress, and seems she will have some success as she's in the next spider man movie.

Oh I dont think she will do nude/sex scenes for the money, I think she will do it to show shes not a child actor anymore. To show that she is ready for adult roles instead of "tween" roles or at least thats what I think she will think. She seems to be in a massive rush in life, rushed to be a star with a high profile (whilst some of her co-stars are taking a more laid back/slow approach), rushed to dress more adult than her years, rushed to get married, rushed to have a kid. I worry that like some other child stars in the past who lived that way too, that if she continues to live at this accelerated rate she could be in for a very rough time (mentally) before she is even 40.

Maybe she will be ok and is more grounded than I give her credit for but I see worrying parallels between the rapid way her life is going and the rapid way some previous child stars lives, whose candle burned out too quick in a similar manner.

I do agree that Sadie Sink seems more talented (and with more traditional Hollywood looks) which might carry her far if she wishes to pursue films.

Regarding the emotional coming out scene, I'd be interested to know if the writers had always intended from the start for Will to be gay or whether it was more down to the actor being gay (and coming out themselves) and them then wanting to integrate that into the story in some fashion.
 
Managed to catch-up on part 2 yesterday. Episode 7 in particular felt naff but roll on the finale. At least they aren't dragging it out like The Walking Dead writers did.

Joyce/Wynona was great in the first few seasons, but yeah, not much for her character to do now except be the worrying mum. But as she's a big actress, i guess they want to keep her aound.

Not like Karen Wheeler - i was pee'ing myself after she blew up the Demidogs - Mike says to her, we got it, go back to bed and rest ie the actress has done her bit, back to the main cast.

She’s literally the first name in the opening credits, but is probably the most pointless character in the show now.

MBB is aging bad. Already looks in her 40’s and in not a good way. I’ll be glad when this series is finished.
