Stranger Things (Netflix)

I enjoyed the final season and I enjoyed the finale episode. I felt Mike has been an underused character so I was really pleased that he got to draw the series to a close. Expectations are so high for shows like this I can't honestly imagine them doing a better job. I looked forward to every episode and it had my attention throughout. Well done Duffer Brothers.

Enjoyed it, whilst it has it's issues, it did seem at least a fulfilling ending.

Hopefully they don't release any prequels/spinoffs etc as I think doing so will devalue the main series. It's been such a unique series - I don't think you can recreate the "magic" of the earlier series.
There’s definitely a cartoon set between series 2 and 3 coming out. Saw the trailer for it.

Agree with much of what's been said here (from people who enjoyed it but thought it could be better)

They had too many characters. Just too many. Dusten was well used. But like others said... Mike wasn't.

I'm surprised they didn't kill anyone off mid s5. They had so many characters they could have easily done it. Even the mum (not Joyce) didn't go.
Think they could have driven the story a bit more with some actual death.

they have already confirmed there will be
Have they confirmed anything live action? I recall talk of some animation that would fill in some gaps, but nothing more that that.

I imagine the spinoff/prequel would focus on the time period where Vecna is a child and finds the rock. That was the only major loose end that they sort of introduced and left unresolved in the last few episodes

I think i could get behind a prequal in a couple of years, something very different no kids but more about how the guy in the cave got there. How did he know about the mind flare and its powers and how they found the other dimension. Feel like there could be a good story there.

only that they are working on something that will be smaller scale and that there hints in the final episode - i imagine it must be the rock

There's a play called The first shadow doing the rounds on Broadway and West end. It's meant to fill in the gaps of who the scientist was and what happens to Henry after the cave memory.

It would be cool if they released that as a book/transcript, like they did with the Harry Potter Cursed Child play.

If it forms part of the story/universe, so few people will be able to see it on Broadway...

Enjoyed it, feel satisfied with how it ended. Unlike the feeling I’ve had with other shows I was committed too.

Any explanation to where the stone originally came from? Did dr bremer create the worm hole prior to el and some how brought part of the mind flayer into this world?
You might want to have a read up on, or a theatre visit to see the prequel Stanger Things: The First Shadow. This explains how they first gained access to the abyss, Brunner's involvement and the cave. Basically all a result of the supposed Philidelphia experiment.

Also found it funny that Hopper was taking a job in Montauk which is the real life inspiration for the show and especially the Hawkins lab. Maybe the first spinoff will be the Jim and Joyce files :D

Some talk of the The First Shadow on here. I highly recommend going to see it if you can even if you’re not a fan of theatre. It’s a superb production and is pretty much a live TV episode.

The finale wasn't bad in comparison to the rest of the season. It had its poor moments sure, and it was obviously best when invoking memories/themes from earlier seasons, but at least it actually did that and wrapped everything up.

I took my eldest in August, he's 15 and loves the TV series. It was a good show, albeit I simply cannot remember anything useful to apply to what's in the Netflix series. My son keeps reminding me of key points

We watched the final series with our 12 year old - who has only just started watching the first season - and absolutely loved it. A couple of bits were a bit tenuous and unnecessary but didn’t take away from the series over all.

We went to the Stranger Things Secret Cinema in London a few years ago - that was ace!
