Street Fighter (SFIV, SSFIV, HDR)

Cheers for the games hyv. you've got a proper annoying Guy there, could not get away from that Bushin Izuna Otoshi. can you crouch it? should proably look at that.

lol, you can crouch to avoid the throw, but you will still have to block the elbow, and you cant really air to air it unless you want to get powerbombed. the pc version feels way different to me, combo timing is delayed 90% of the time even in training mode. but i very very rarely play this game anyway, i only recently started playing a bit again because i played ruben at the expo, so i play a little to body him some more.

the main reason why my guy was annoying to you is because i got better footsies than you so its hard for you to get in, also like ruben that overhead is unblockable against you. in turn, the slide also become unblockable because you are scare of the overhead. but you did start read the slide toward the end, which is good.

the funniest thing was my brother told me to get something in the last game, and i told him i was "focusing". as soon as he walked in, he saw you focus and get hit by my super, he told me, i am not focusing, you are lol.

anyway, you have successfully annoy the crap out of me before i brought guy out of retirement, by your dp mashing and two pattern jab jab throw offense when you were on a streak. a part of my soul is lost when ever i get hit by someone's focus, or focus dash forward and start mashing jab/dp/throw like crazy.

ruben, you were a no show yesterday. what happened to swat 4?

in case you guys wondering what actually happened, here is the video and sorry robbie the video was lagging while recording, so i had to cut out the three games that you won because the audio wasn't working.

anyway the highlights of the video are me getting hit by yun's lunge from full screen, guy's ex spin kick beats ken's dp (i dont think neither of us knew would happen), robbie p'ed on me with seth, guy's whiff punish cody's slide ftw, and the combo into super to punish fei long's focus attack at the end.

Cheers for the games Rav/Art. went on a good while longer than I anticipated.
Think we both ran out of "playable" characters by the end of it.

Xbox timing is definitely different to PC. I find I have to slow my inputs down for the xbox version. It was amusing to see how low my PP and BPs are though.

Cheers guys.

XBox has the most responsive engine out of the 3.

The PS3 has a few frames of input lag and the PC version has all kinds of weird stuff going on, such as a 60fps physics engine, but a graphics engine completely out of sync as it's not locked to an equal update rate.

Thanks, pretty horrible matchup for Sim though, none of my other chars got close to you!
Cammy will be unplayable after the next patch if the millions of haters get their way.

I see Art still likes trolling with Gief! I don't like fighting Gief unless its a mirror match. light spd range is just insane!

Hopefully someone can help me out here as I've literally just picked up fighting games to try and play online for the first time after watching UFGT.

First off, I'm getting absolutely caned online, granted I'm playing PC with a small userbase and playing rank C+/B usually, I think I've managed to win two fights out of about 30/40, is this the best way to improve, just grinding online?

Also as far as challenges go, I can get to about 12/13 with a fair few characters on SSFIV but yeah just struggle like crazy with timings and stuff, is repetition hundreds of times the best way to do it? Also some timings on certain people I can even do like a LP->MP->LK or something unless I set the controller down and use it like an arcade stick, making me think of getting one.

Also I struggle with D-Pad, I think i accidentally roll over a lot and its screwing my inputs as I actually seem to do better with analogue stick somehow.

Hope someone can give me advice on a few of these things :p

Yeah, you've got some nice combos and good footsies, I think in the next set I'll just play my main chickens as i was scrubbing it out with fei, juri etc.

Most of the time i'm playing with characters i barely know how to spice it up, but would be good to get a serious set in.

@elrasho, i can beat your able now, vian taught me how to block the unblockable

Purdy, stick with a pad if you're using a grappler, get a stick for everyone else.

It's all about grinding i'm afraid, learning the matchups, what is safe and what is not, knowing how to punish and mind games.

The game has been out for a few years now, so most people are at a decent enough level to destroy newcomers, so you'll need to watch videos, see what the best are doing, and try to replicate it.

Also, figure out what type of character you like playing, and stick to it.

Also learn how to anti-air consistently and tech throws.
