What is going on with this, it’s awful. Another 2 children have died today. That’s 9 since September and overall cases are going up daily. It’s surely only going to get worse going into Christmas and the winter months. Will we get to the situation where we have to find a way of protecting children in schools?

Has a vaccine ever been developed?

It doesn't need a vaccine I don't think. It's usually easily combatted with antibiotics I believe. But as ever it needs to be caught early as it can lead to more serious infection.

I personally feel it's a side effect of going back to being social and mixing, these sort of things would have been mild infections that would have come and go. However so much time apart young kid's immune systems haven't had the exposure to diseases that they would normally have done by now. That's just a theory of course.

As a parent of 2 under 10s I'm not particularly worried about this. Just keep an eye on them other than the usual colds and sneezes if anything worse happens we'd act on it.

Sells papers innit. We've had measles, chickenpox you name it. Every generation has their "ehrmahgehrd we're all gonner die" thing that goes around for a bit and makes everyone freak out.

At least with Corona we said "**** it" and blew the doors off, no half measures, go hard or go home.

I wonder if they will find any interaction between these Strep A infections and Covid - as in either recently had Covid or have it at time of infection

Is it even a pandemic? Corona was a pandemic, by that measure is monkey pox even on the scale?

I really have no idea, but then this doesn't really interest me either.

I'm impartial. I don't have any myself and probably won't have any, but I can certainly see the appeal, my mate's kids are fantastic at washing dishes.
