Striker wont overclock

cool...ive just plugged this page into my ipod touch so i can read the thread whilst changing the settings. ill post again in a little bit if all is well.

ok ive set all the settings as described.

this is going to sound complelty thick :)...

QDR default = 1066 = 4 cores divided 4 give 266.5 mhz x 10 multiplier = 2.66ghz

so i need to increase the 1066 to 1086 given that you do it in 5mhz incriments? spread accross the four cores this is around 5mhz increase, am i right?

Increase the FSB (QDR) by 5Mhz increments Yip;)

Boot into windows and increase.

When you are no longer able to boot into windows Back off to the last FSB setting and make a note of the Vcore voltage, And then run prime with core temp open.

(If prime fails take a screen shot of prime including coretemp and CPUZ and post back including the screen shot).

whoops! 2006 was a bit of a jump. the next fine setting is in the image

i did try 1200 which got me to 3ghz and into windows. i ran cpu z then took a screenie and ran paintshop pro bu it locked up whilst loading paintshop. i tried 1200 becuase it keeps them ram at its rated speed of 800mhz.

ill try Set FSB to 350X9=3.1GHz next...back in a jiffy.

Excellent:) keep the incremental steps going as suggested earlier;) and post back

I gather from you earlier post you are using the stock cooler?

Can you also post a shot of core temp with CPUZ before you start your next increment the extra info will be useful cheers

im just grabbing core temp. couldnt resist some quick benchmarks. it already eats a QX9650 ....im liking this! ill post the post with the pics in a mo.

hmm. not sure that its totally stable. out of intrest i just ran the crysis CPU benchmark and it crashed half way through the test. the settings are as per the last cpuid screenie i posted.

Ok, drop the FSB to last setting of stability before benchmarking. (350x9)

Post the Vcore voltage as seen in the Bios for the setting (350x9)

I will need the core temp/ CPUZ (together) pic as well;)

heres the core tmep and cpuz pic. i think its fine considering its a stock cooler - although the case side panel is off still. ill just reboot and see what the vcore is, hang tight.
