Hi All.

i thought no i will leave it for that night, so i decided to try it tonight? i have a few questions... how is it smoother its softer to drink its quite nice but nothing special.

as far as i can tell its just not as gassy? (sp?)

also why such a small bottle i like the 3 litre bottles of the stuff!!? this stuff does about 2 pint glasses?

any one else tryed it and whats your opinions on the fine cider? :)

Not had sirrus, or even seen it before.

I like a nice 'bow though - makes me feel generally good when I'm drunk, doesnt make me feel ill (like lager) - doesn't stop me from getting to sleep (like lager) and doesn't give me a stinking hangover (like..)

Some other nice ciders include Stowford Press, Old Rosy, Magners (with ice  :D )

i like woodpecker from time to time, if strongbow isnt on tap. also i wouldnt mind trying "blackthorn"

Did try it last weekend, as you say it's pretty smooth and not as gassy, that's about all I could say.

Got some Sheppy's stuff I bought in the fridge that I haven't tried yet.

Prefer Strongbow to Blackthorn, tastes nicer imho.

Can't beat either some nice scrumpy (cripple **** scrumpy is nice down here) or a nice pint of Rattler :)

try this sirrus stuff, im gonna browse for a larger bottle.

Cant stand normal strongbow but the Sirrus is quite nice. Doesnt taste as much like wee wee as the normal one does. :p

Strongbow is ace. very refreshing.

Sirrus is nice but the prices will be going up as the popularity does (£1.50 in my club). It also has to be drunk from a glass with lots of ice, similarly to Magners :)

Woodpecker and Blackthorn suck compared to Strongbow, but they're drinkable. Scrumpy isn't all that nice really, though thats also drinkable.

I drink strongbow (he says can in hand), would like to try that stuff but I havent seen it anywhere yet what shop did you purchase it from?

can you buy this in the pubs?

Ive found that a pint of strongbow with a shot of my skittles vodka (thread from a while ago) goes down a treat. Makes you quite drunk, but tastes so nice.

Woodpecker was what I started on as a kid when I couldn't handle more bitter drinks like lager. It's very sweet and quite low volume (3.5%) whereas Blackthorn is drier cider (used to be called Dry Blackthorn) and somewhere around 5.5%. Strongbow falls inbetween the two in terms of sweetness but I drink either, whichever happens to be on tap.

I've even managed to get the gf drinking cider from time to time instead of her usual wine or spirit+mixers thanks to the Swedish Kopperberg range sold in Wetherspoons/Lloyds bars. Sadly I haven't been able to locate any for sale in supermarkets/offlicenses yet though.
