Strongbow Fans?

If it's nice and sunny (and you don't wanna get too wrecked too soon) a Strongbow and black with a couple of slices of ice is well refreshing! :)

Slices of ice?

my (just) 16yr old brother is a strongbow fan, as are all of his spotty, gangly, greasy teenaged friends - unfortunately (ha) i missed out on the youthful white lightening sessions, and subsequent cider addiction.
i can't touch the stuff, even the smell makes me want to hurl
he likes the sirrus though, there have been tokens to get a bottle free in lots of the tabloids recently too.

drink grolsch, in bottles, *thats* the drink for *real* men, raaaah (and it's vegetarian :))

Find both Strongbow and Blackthorn equally nice, can't decide which I like better.
My local where I work only sells Blackthorn but Rileys only has Strongbow, tis a hard life.

Just wish there was a Wetherspoons nearbye, The one up in Stafford sells Old Rosie which is lovely stuff. Gotta love a bit of scrumpy, lose to ordering a 20 litre box of the stuff.

Strongbow is pretty nice, generally the best draught cider on offer, and the 40 cans in my kitchen testify that it's usually a good one to get on offer at the supermarkets. Haven't tried Sirrus but it looks a bit alcopopish to me. Stowford Press is, as yet, the nicest I've seen on draught anywhere (excluding guest brews) and Magners is nice but far too pricey for what it is.

My favourite tipple currently is Dunkerton's Premium Organic, it's got a great full taste with just the right balance of dry, sharp & sweet. Very much like the ciders from North-West France.

sirrus has been in the pubs round here for over a year, was rushed out as the Magner's craze took off, not that keen myself, it froths really oddly when poured on ice too

strongbow sirrus is nice actually , maybe abit sweet ,

was brought out to be a magners equivalent with ice etc and imo its nicer than magners

Strongbow is alright, i can drink it very easily.
Magners is very very nice, its what i usually drink when i go watch rugby
Koppenburg came into ireland about a year ago we can buy it in the off-sales, i would usually drink it if im on a night out tho i can get drunk or get a sore head very easily when on it
You prob all know this but strongbow + woodpeck + magners are all made and sold by the same company..... bulmers.
and in liverpool ( i recently visited) they dont sell magners in the pubs they sell bulmers, which is what they sell in southern ireland. :D
just a bit of knowledge for the unknowing :D

btw best place ive been for home made cider is leeds festival, they have a cider tent, you can try different types.

anyone had super strongbow?

yup, it's dirt cheap at the off license. 3 quid for 4 cans and that's enough to get you well on your way. tastes nice too considering it's 7.5%. :D

merrydown medium vintage is my cider of choice though. again this is 7.5% but you wouldn't know it from the taste. it's gorgeous.
