Stuck/dead pixel?

I have an Acer AL1716, and it has a stuck/dead pixel. What's the difference?

It's bright blue rather than black..

Black = Pixel is stuck in off mode and will never switch on again

Bright Blue = Stuck Sub Pixel (blue one) is stuck hard on

You might be able to fix the lazy/stuck pixel.

Try massaging gently that area on the screen and check if it starts changing colours.

You can also run an application that changes colours rapidly; this should sort of force the pixel to work and hopefully get fixed.

I don't think he means for you to light some candles and get the baby oil out.
