As said above, try removing the handle (just a few screws) and seeing if you can turn the barrel without it.
If not then the options appear to be to drill it out, smash it down or (and this is probably what I'd do) try to remove the trim around the door frame and the inner trim that the door closes onto. This may prise away with some persuasion and give better access to the door pin itself to either push it in or maybe cut is (hacksaw/angle grinder).
You can actually knock the door pins out and remove the door that way. But from the way the OP describes it I suspect the hinges are on the inside and so not accessible either.
Right to update, tried the credit card trick but no luck. The hinges are on the inside so no access. Just took the handle off leaving the square rod poking out, pair of pliers on it, it turns and makes the propper noises but door is still stuck.
Sounds like your latch has failed, I usually use a large flat headed screw driver in the latch and give it a good turn to see if you can just get it to go enough to open.
If you need to get in there this morning then a good shove should see you in and hopefully you will only need a new latch and keep.
Had to take spindle out, 2 things had happened the latch had failed. and Im guessing its called the keep had become loose some how so was also stopping the latch from releasing.
All in now
