Stuck in a loop

Yeah mine is about 3 inches wider than the motherboard
Then the active backplate adds more height
Above the gpu slot
Which will make life very difficult
Literally took a hacksaw to some heatsinks
As was stubbornly determined the ####### thing was
Going in there
Not a great idea with a £900 motherboard
Even if I got it second hand for lot less than that

Hopefully they can just click another clip in
Only ever done that to a ram retention clip
But was pretty easy to shove a spare one in
If you only broke the clip
And nothing on the slot fingers crossed you will be ok

Update. It was the graphics card. They replaced the Radion 6800 with a 6600. I no longer game so that’s good enough.

It cost £960 two years ago. I notice the new card has three year guarantee. I bought the old one from Overclockers, how long is the guarantee with them?

If they no longer sell the card to have a look
Should be able to look in your purchase history
To see warranty length
Might still be in warranty?

Unless an item specifically says otherwise
I usually assume after 1 year you may need to rma
To the manufacturer rather than retailers
Though been a very long time luckily
Since I had to rma anything
So just my opinion
Not based on personal experience thankfully

They managed to shove gpu clip back on?

Guessing 2002 is a typo
Really ought to be 3 years on what was basically
A thousand pound gpu

Could be something as simple as a capacitor
There's a couple of guys in here
Who are good at pcb level repairs
Typically don't remember names except
For Vince
Seen him repair various items
Even attach pins to cpus and stuff
