stuck on mass effect

so i have just landed on the mining planet of therum (i think!) ive got as far as getting to the camp, where i get a cut scene of this thing that crawls on the metal girders then a load more geth coming down on drop ships or something, has anyone got any tips for doing this bit? i am just getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter! im not trained in either using a assault rifle or the shotgun so it makes battling quite difficult, and my squadmates are no better either.

If I recall correctly it's the combination of the little jumping buggers and the massive hulking cannon on legs that screws you there, take out either of them quickly and you should be alright.

I say that, but I thik what I did was hide like a sissy girl behind some boxes and fluked a few kills on the jumping gits, then took out the biggun'.

Try using your overdrive powers or whatever they're called, I basically played the game entirely without them unless I got stuck. They do help quite a bit.

Probably useless now, but you don't have to abandon the jeep thing. You can squeeze it through the tiny gap, and none of the geth will shoot you at the end.

Ive found the easy way to do this on the harder modes is as soon as the fight starts sprint back as fast as you can, don't worry about your team dying they will res when you get far enough away. From there some of the troops will come at you and are easily killed. If you watch the jumping things go to the same spots so just wait and shoot them as they do. Then you can have the big armature or whatever its called to yuorself; just unload your skills on it a voila!

In future, have a biotic in your team who has the Lift power. Target the crawlers and use Lift on them to suspend them in the air and then take them out quickly. Learn to use cover in the games because on the higher difficulty levels you'll need it.

cheers guys, i did it last night! man im either getting too old for games, or i was just never any good as im finding this game difficult even on medium. lol. the fight just after that with the krogan and a couple of geth i struggled on as well. i did it in the end with the help of the hammer II sniper rifle
