Stuck with life

Checked and Zefan is right, having A Levels does help when you join the forces but im actually getting mentally depressed and angry with college.

If i had the chance i would actually shove my first through my teachers face
 
Study is boring but you won't get anywhere without it - unless you win the lottery or have a massive talent at something. Life is very competitive.

Like in lying a ditch in dartmore in february when you can't move around because your on watch but you can't feel your legs anymore?

Note, I've never had the pleasure, but heard if from several people who've been through the forces.

It sounds like a great experience - good with the bad but the number of stories they have is stupendous, I swear I've heard another story every Saturday for the last 3 years :)

They all came out though, they had trades to come back to and I heard many people were unhappy but stayed in because they had no trade / skill ot come back to.

Maybe worth finishing the a-levels just for that fall back?
 
This is how i feel about school at the moment, but ive been told its a lot better in college.

Only time will tell, but i cannot wait to get out of school, and im sure many of you will say once you leave youll want to go back, but i "hate" that place with a furious passion.
 
If i could i would stay in school, i was treated like an actual adult.

Im not, and thats what ****s me right off.

Plus all the pedo teachers that just perve over all the girls in your class rather than helping you do work, then have ago of you for not doing work =/
 
I feel the exact same, been thinking about joining the marines, but without A levels I cant join as an officer and wont have great pay :(
 
I'd say get the A-levels done and apply to go straight in as a pongo (Army officer). Go speak to your local recruiting guys tell them how you feel. If you want to be an officer you are far better off with the A-levels than without. If you want to be a grunt and the army/marines/ RAF regiment is where you want to be and you are really unhappy where you are then it's your life but you'll need family support to get through training as it is nasty on occasions. Speak to the recruiters and get them to give you all your options.

Could always excel and be promoted :)

New officers straight out of west-point or w/e don't actually have any real time experience

Always thought some of the best officers were the most experienced ones

School > College.

I took school for granted, wish i hadn't now. Best days of my life :(

The best NCOs tend to stay that way as they are great leaders within those ranks and get to Srg and up and you gain a lot of respect. Also officers go through more training than the low level grunts as they have initial training and officer training, so it's all swings and round abouts tbh.
 
I hate college, I'm doing 3 A2s and 1 AS and the trouble is I detest 2 of the subject I'm studying. Each general studies and I.T. lesson I'm just thinking I wish I didn't waste my time with this, the stuff we learn is so irrelevant to any career I want to pursue that I just don't see the point. Geography and Business aren't so bad but my Business lesson is full of ****s so that doesn't help matters. My attendance recently is very poor.

Just 5 months of college left though and I'm off to uni :)

It's not quite like that, it would take a hell of a lot to go from NCO to Officer.
 
im starting to hate college too but luckily im only on a 1 year course so ill just stick it out to the end then do an apprenticeship. wish i wouldnt have messed up school as badly as i did but oh well =\
 
I am in the same situation really, when i was at my first year of college the teachers did not really care who passed, did not teach properlly and never turned up. hence the first year i spent at college got scraped and we heared no more about it, that made a really bad impression on me and gave me no motivation at all, second year i passed (barely). i managed to get Merits in nearly all fields (few distinctions on Network Design and business structures) and had to retake my online tests about 6 times before i passed (even the teachers were baffled at a lot of the questions).

then i started an apprenteship, i was learning a lot while having a laugh, great colleagues and enjoyed working their. Now i a had my first day at my new placement due to my last one being closed down. i hate every bit of it even though i put on a smile. its just really boring, repetetive, people are "to themselves" and i feel really depressed to the fact i am considering the Army.

Its all down to motivation, im booking a session with a place called connections in north west and i hope they dig something out of me, but i do not want to go back to West Cheshire college ever.
 
It must be the time of year, turned up for college on thurs (do day release) and i just could not be bothered. As many have said though, just sticking too it and grinding the last couple of months out as it'll be worth it in the end when i can goto uni (also on day release, gah). Do more sodding work than my mates already doing degrees!
