Your suppose to get a statement every year telling you your balance, and i'm still waiting for my 04/05, when they should have issued 05/06 already....

I'm on a placement this year and I got a 50% loan. However, as I'm in London, I got half of a London loan, which means I ended up with about the same as I normally get in Sheffield!

If you haven't done it already, I'd recommend filling out the hard copy form rather than doing it online. The online system is new and seems to be a complete mess.

I'd also recommend getting your skates on, as I sent mine off in April and only got it confirmed about four days ago.

Does anyone know what percentage of loan you get if you are on placement?

Probably not much, they probably expect you to live on your wages rather than spend them all on flash cars

I was offered the full loan as normal, but turned it down. Also as mentioned above, fees are only 50% of what you normally pay.

Got a letter through yesterday saying that I had £0 entitlement, so rang up earlier this morning. Turns out they haven't received my 06/07 application (despite me sending it in April, and my mum receiving confirmation), and on closer inspection the support notfication i got yesterday is for 04/05 (along with other errors about my course)

So looks like I will have to apply again, which will take upwards of 4 weeks, which is a little inconvenient as I start my course in 2 weeks

Yes, they're useless it seems. Last year everything was fine. Like I said in another post, the SLC have been sending the last few months letters to a random halls of residence in Bristol. I never put those details on there, all I put were my details from Leicester and Nottingham. So god knows where they got them from. Even stranger is the fact that the last two years I have had correspondence to my home address. Why it changed all of a sudden is beyond me.

Took just under 2 weeks from applying to receiving my notification.
Although a lot of people seem to have had trouble with it.

I sent off for mine a few weeks ago (about 2 months after the deadline ) and got my entitlement through the other day so you should still get it on time.

Thing is I start in 2 weeks, so I very much doubt they can be that efficient
