stutter and lag with sli setup

ok so theres a lot of replys thanks. cpus vcore is 1.440 if that helps, the gtx 560 vram is 1gb. i had this issue with a single gtx 560 thats why i went sli but its the same. ive ran it all on stock clocks with 1 card and still lagging . theres no other pci cards no wifi. im only on campaign mode in games, so not internet lag. if i up the vcore to 1.5v would it be ok? it was stable in prime 95 at 1.440v.

Too high. 10-20mv increments. Prime is a synthetic test it doesnt stress the PCI bus in any shape or form like gaming does

I've used that card on a similar system with medium detail. Should be possible to play without stutter. Maybe try at stock first (on cpu, if you haven't already).

I would also try updating to latest drivers if that hasn't been mentioned as Bioshock Infinite had stuttering issues on earlier drivers.

If it's ONLY dropping to low 20s and not an actual stutter as Greg suggests it could quite easily be the cards just arent up to it. But I know I've played BF4 ok on a similar rig

hi, ive tried everything stock and with 1 560, thats why i went sli to try and solve the problem. ive used passed nvidia drivers inc betas. im currently using 340.52 drivers.

haha yes its enabled. ddu and ab running?. when i install the drivers i dont install gf experience or 3d vision. just driver and physx

yes i have precisionx. ok so ive upped cpu voltage just to see if it helped, went as far as 1.6v and bioshock worked better smoother at around 20% cpu usage. bf4 was the same as before though still jittering. but cpu dropped to around 50% usage. vram on both games was 1015mb so im guesing its maxed that. could that be the problem?

Yep not enough VRAM, SLI won't stack it. Are you running the games at max settings? Probably need to knock a few down to lower the VRAM usage and those harsh drops should disappear.

Yeh, if it's sitting at over 1gb you'll experience jitters regardless of any other causes

so next question is, another card but im broke at moment so its a used card so recommendations please.

1015mb is less than the 1024mb on the card

My mate's running a 480 and playing BF4 100% fine.
It's not much of an upgrade, but selling 1 560 should cover the cost of the 480. The 1.5gb VRAM should give you some bounce room if that happens to be the problem.

Does lowering your resolution cure the stuttering, as it will lower VRAM requirements.

ive ran bf4 on lowest settings and its still stuttered, not as much though. i can pick up a 7950 for around £100. then later grab another.

As the title says but some games work fine. now the games that are really bad are cod ghosts, bf4, bioshock infinite. these 3 games are so bad there unplayable. Ive tried single card and its the same. Ive tried lowest settings highest settings with no change. Overclocking, new installs on ssd and hdd. different drivers, core unparking, Ive tried everything really. my specs are.....

fx 6300 @ 4.7ghz
gtx 560 (nonti) sli
gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3
corsair cx750 psu
corsair vengeance 8gb
120gb ssd
Creative Sound Blaster Z
Those are GTX560, not the GTX560Ti, so clearly they would be the 1GB cards, that's why OP is getting stutters if he crank up the settings, regardless of single card or SLI...
