Stuttering in Cs 1.6 with core 2 system?

i'm using the built in wireless that came with the p5b deluxe version! i'l try un-installing this and using my old pci network card to see if this makes a difference? but with the built in wireless i always get excellent signal strength.

i haven't tried it when creating my own server i'l try that later and let you know!

Would seriously recommend a defrag.

Have you tried to back off the O/C on the CPU and tighten those memory timings?

I Used to get lot of stutter in CS and CS source until i frigged about with CPU O/C and memory timing, use to be a pain, but all is well for me know.

ok started a local server and got no skipping, so i'm guessing it's something to do with my net, i'l try un-installing the asus adapter and just using my old pci network adapter?

Definitely.

It's almost certainly due to a suspect wireless connection.

As an example, some users find that the wireless zero service in windows XP causes huge spikes every minute or so.

Try pinging your wireless router for a long time (say -n 200) and see what the maximum latency is.

For gaming I'd always use a wired connection where available.

lol sorry then buddy :(

ON A BRIGHT NOTE I FIXED MY SKIPPING

all i did was un-install the asus wireless and install my old bt voyager wireless pci card and voila! now pinging lower no loss, no choke, no skipping :D damn asus!

ta much, seriously dood you don't know how much i was crying at night with this! even contemplated selling my conroe rig

Well done, suspect wireless at all times, thats why I do not run wireless unless I'm using my laptop.

Cable 4tw as its just more reliable and can carry more bandwith

urm maybe you don't understand? i'm still on wireless, instead of using the built in asus wireless client on my motherboard, i went back to using my old bt voyager pci wireless card and all is well again! so i'm still on wireless, and as a note to all of the wireless haters out there, in the 2 years of having my wireless setup in my home (between 3 heavily used computers) i have not experienced as of yet 1 minutes down time and i get perfect reception in my bedroom!

Hmz, there is me wondering why the asus client was giving you problems, is that wireless onboard then you mean ?

If so its a bit of a shame your having to use a external wireless card if the board has it but im glad u fixed it.

and cheers for the heads up on the system im getting :)

np, yeah it's the asus onboard client, a main point in me getting this board was the onboard wireless as it free's up a pci card space, so a little disapointed that it gave me the skipping problems, never the less i'm more than happy now that i have my pci card and everything is lightning fast and my pings are better than ever around 9-11!

*edit - i'm also getting faster download speeds
