He does appear to be a tad unhinged.

Potentially even more amusing is this garbage from Lugano.

"What did you see? You saw this, really? You need to show me because I didn't see anything," said Lugano.
"Did you see it today or did you see what happened in other years. You couldn't have seen it today because nothing happened.
"The worst of everything is the attitude of Chiellini."

He responded in the least untruthful manner that he could.

Shoulder, eye, mouth... they are all the same; all bits of human (to gorge upon)

And his team mates are berating chiellini.

I think you're being a bit harsh, It was only a little nibble it's not like he bit a chunk out of him or owt is it.

:p

Ikr. Maybe not just 'normal' bad challenges, but you get the obvious with intent, two-footed, seriously dangerous challenges... or obviously intentional elbows which can and do break faces... etc. I find it hard to see how a bite (or three) should result in a massive worldwide ban, whilst the sort of things I just mentioned get three match bans/maybe a few more games than that.

When you go to work tomorrow have a bite on your boss. Please report back on what happens to you (if you can from a cell).

Didn't the Portugal defender Xavier receive a lengthy ban for having a pop at the ref? which is nothing compared to this incident.

I feel for the Liverpool manager, after everything that's gone on before. :(

Brendan Rodgers sitting watching the World cup was trying to get some kind of good out of it, Oh well he thought at least Saurez has played well. Oh Wait :(

:p

best I could do in 5 mins :p

they'd still take him. fresh start and all of that. most important thing to him is chompion's league football.

lol!

I can understand that it would seem unfair to Liverpool if he got a ban for club football too, but he's a Liverpool player so he has to realise that at some level he is representing them whenever he plays.

If a dog bit 3 people would they just stop it being allowed to go for walk for a couple months?
Why is it not so bad when a human being does it? A dog is an animal and we like to think we're more intelligent than them. Dogs are pretty dumb, half the time they're not even sure if you've thrown the ball, surely the more intelligent you are the less excuse you have for doing something like this?

Lugano is pretty much as big a cheat as Suarez, just slightly less controversial, he dived or fouled a half dozen times in the first game before winning a penalty, which was ironically the only time he was really fouled, even so he dived to make a meal of it.

He's an actually good defender when not cheating so it's a bit of a shame, with all the cheating he's just a ****. I'm not at all surprised he said what he did.

He seems oblivious to the fact that the match is on TV and replays are available. Bite a player, then react to their reaction and if the ref falls for it then it's all good  Will be interesting to see what happens to him.

Am I alone in being perplexed by the outrage?

Biting is bad but no worse than dangerous tackles in my mind. Bad challenges can end careers, bites will leave a bruise at worst. Yes it's undignified, and yes he should get a ban, but I don't see it as worse than other straight red card offences.

I thought Chiellini was dead such was the moral outrage !!

It amuses me that people grab their pitchforks and demand retribution so vehemently yet there are elbows and leg breaking high tackles every match however they are deemed 'fine' as it's all part of the game ?

Suarez, if he did bite him, and I'm 99% sure he did, will deserve a massive ban. There is no defense for his actions, he's deeply disturbed that's for sure but it's only football, perspective.

I would say six months off whilst he undergoes therapy to sort out whatever in his head is telling him that biting is acceptable.

Why do so many people say this tripe, you can't understand the outrage when people are fine with leg breaking tackles and elbows... it's ridiculous because the premise is simply made up.

When there are high leg breaking challenges there is outrage, when there are elbows there is outrage.

Did the Neymar elbow go ignored, did everyone say it was part of the game, or was there outrage it wasn't a red card... it's the latter.

The difference is, as usual that if one player does one bad tackle, we all speak out about it, but if it's one we treat it as that. When a player does 5 of them, there is more outrage. Over the years, a few is a mistake, more than that and you realise a player isn't learning. Even Gerrard does less of his nasty leg breaker style tackles than he used to, in fact he hasn't done them for some time.

It's quantity and quality(or lack there of) in the offence that dictates the response.

Suarez has done one of the single worst tackles I've ever seen, he's purposefully injured players, he's bitten three people, he's clearly stamped/kicked peoples ankles to hurt them, he's cheated time and time again. This wasn't a bite, this was the third bite on the end of a list of dozens of awful tackles, intents to injure. The outrage is NOT for the bite ALONE, but in context. If I dunno, Sturridge, or Defoe did a little bite with almost nothing else on his "CV of being a ****" then there would be little outrage, same if this was one of only a very few things Suarez had done. Weird but still only one of a few. I can't name a player outside of Barton who has done as many fouls and nasty things. Now regardless of what Barton does, a two footed leg breaker, or a little pat on the cheek, the outrage is almost the same, because it's about the whole list of things, not just the latest one.
