Subtle differences between RTM and Retail?

I seriously doubt there were any changes in between the RTM and consumer releases. I expect they had already started pressing the DVDs for the consumer release when the RTM was released.

There aren't any changes.

And for the crap about bitlocker and the like, that was fixed in an update on day 1.

Can confirm; RTM=Retail.

I'm running Vista Ultimate x86 OEM which was installed from an RTM disc and activated using the OEM key; no activation issues.

Even though I agree with you, that's not a valid reason. Beta 2 to RC2 via all CTPs in between all registered and activated with the same keys with no issues, and they weren't the same.

Agreed, hence i did some research prior to installation/activation to confrm that people were reporting no differences and that the version numbers were identical.
