Success beckoning for Steve McLaren

Blame the FA for being stupid enough to appoint a manager that was obviously not good enough, don't blame the manager for being made to think he was good enough by the FA.

I'm glad he's done well, and got his managerial career back on track, I however will be happy that he won't come anywhere near the England team again.

I blame him for not doing the decent thing TWICE, in one, refusing the job, and two after the whole universe could see what a complete balls up of the job he was making of it half way through qualifying by not walking away.

exaggerate much

Blame the FA for not having the foresight in employing him in the first place. It's quite conceivable that he could do a Roy Hodgson and take a another club in England onto some euro success. I also seem to remember some of the best football Utd played and Derby prior to that were under the coaching of Steve Mclaren

Coaching, not manager.

The footballing world is littered with the corpses of great coaches who have gone on to be **** poor managers.

That's funny because aren't you of those who slates Keegan for being a quitter even though he left the England job when he realised he wasn't good enough?

When he realised he wasnt good enough after he had crashed out of the competition you mean when it was to late to do anything about it?

In regards to that, Mclaren is even worse, as they had to sack him because he wasnt going to walk, he thought he had done as much as could be done.

Keegan is a quitter, not because of walking away once, but by walking away.........how many times is it again?

McClaren's a good club manager. He was SHOCKING for England but he got Boro (lol) to a UEFA cup final and won the Carling Cup aswell.

I'd gladly take him back at Boro.

I've just seen the post-match conference on the news and he's still speaking like a retard.

Congrats to him though on winning the title.

I think he deserves the Man Utd job for his achievements, hopefully he will get it :)

I second that:p:D

LOL at his post match interview...the guy is freaking funny with that dodgy dutch accent...i mean try and fit in but dont look like an utter idiot trying to impersonate a dutch accent...wonder if hes going for elocution lessons a la dutch style:p

The thing is though some people actually do that subconsciously (adjusting accent to their surroundings). If I spend a lot of time around Yorkshiremen or Irishmen I start altering my accent a little. I'd imagine if I was living and working somewhere different it might start creeping in to my conversations with them.

Don't forget that when you are in a foreign country, speaking english, you naturally tend to speak differently anyway (slower, clearer, using less complex words and phrases etc).

I'm Irish and did the same around Americans, such as slightly elongating my vowels for instance. I don't think I've ever been as blatent as Schteve though.

I wonder how your accent acclimatised to Ireland, Hangtime? :D

One of the best achievements by an English manager in recent years. Not that there's much competition. ;) Well done Steve McLaren.

Mclaren is a bad manager.
He should never of been allowed near a football club again after his disastrous and incompetent time as England coach.
In fact, he should have been dragged out and strung up by his testicles out side of soho square.

Why does everyone hate him so much. His achievements at middlesborough and this club must show some merit. Especially when you looks at both clubs performances before he was there.
