My first overclock, does it look alright, highest temp seems to be 50C underload is this o.k? Am I missing anything, if you need more details please ask.

maybe set a longer CPU burn test. 2 mins isnt realyl gunna pickup any issues with your overclock, try at 6 hours overnight burn in test

Yeah ran it for longer last night, the only issue ive found is that I cant overclock my GTX as fast as I could before, it'll cause the system to crash in 3D Mark 06. (grahic .dll file error)
Other than that are my temps and voltage o.k?

Sorry im a little paranoid as before I was an overclocking virgin, are my volts and fsb o.k guys?
Also Ive notice my Ram speeds have increased from 800mhz to 1000mhz is this safe as well?
Thankx

I would have thought that chip would do 3 Ghz on stock volts. I'd go into the BIOS and take all the voltages off "Auto". Auto gets a bit silly sometimes, for instance my board with a 2.6 Ghz overclock likes to think that I need 1.4v for my CPU and +0.1v for my Northbridge, when in fact I don't and all it's doing is raising temps.

Can running the extra volts do any harm or is it just the temp thats effected?
Can any tell me what the stock volts are again for a E6600

Looks quite hot to me, invest in an aftermarket cooler definately.

Are the core temps in Speedfan not the temp to watch?

Intel TAT would be a better choice for me.

Brought a Asus Silent Knight Yesterday brought temps down around 10Degrees under load Max on core1 is now 50, is that still to high?

Just wondering Loowi, what voltage settings did you use for the following:
-FSB Termination Voltage
-NB Vcore
-SB Vcore
-ICH Chipset Voltage

I have no clue what to set these to, other than auto or the minimum voltage settings.

Also what is your DRAM frequency set to in the BIOS?

Hope that helps

As long as it passes the test at 1Ghz RAM speed then yea you should be fine. Good timings for that speed.

@Black Dragon:

My Geil C4 RAM was able to get up to 950mhz. Didn't try pushing it further. Thats with 2.17V

@Loowi

If you want to overclock it further seeing as you have the new cooler then I would do the following.

Set CPU vcore to 1.4
Set RAM Divider to 1:1
Set FSB to 350

This should give you 3.15Ghz on your core to start off with. From that point keep raising your FSB until you either start failing the test or get it to 400.

At 400FSB you'll have a cpu of 3.6Ghz and memory of 800mhz (their stock speed). If that passes all tests and remains under 60C throughout then you could even try going faster but I would keep the temps below 65C. To get all the way to 400FSB you might need to bump your your NB voltage a bit and your CPU vcore might have to go up a bit too. I'm not sure what the default settings for NB is. Find out what it is by default and put it a notch above that.
