Sudden appearance of ads on OCUK site ??? **UPDATE: There will be no adverts**

You aren’t the only one with complaints. I’ve echoed the same sentiments, but thankfully I use 2x pi-hole at home so I had to actively turn them off to see these trial ads.

Adblock on chrome also removes the ad placeholder to sort out the formatting too... shame that it’s a requirement as this site was one I’d normally not feel the need to block ads.

I really don't want a multi-surface vacuum - but the forum ads don't believe me. :)

And it sneaks through uBlock with Chrome - but as i type this they may find this more useful for them than me...
 
Ad block + known ad domains blocked on router firewall.

Or just download a list and add them to your hosts file. Sites won't even detect you blocking them that way as it just sent it all in to a black hole.

Is it? If I was allowed to show you behind the curtain I’d show you that this is what was the plan (mod areas only). I had no idea about this until this thread became a thing.

Additional income I'm guessing. And why not? The vast majority of us on here only buy stuff now and then but use the forum daily. If a few ads is all it takes to keep this excellent cesspit of depravity and knowledge alive then crack on, I'll even add an exclusion to my adblockers.

Or the company, like most companies, is suffering because of covid and would rather put some ads on the forum than make staff redundant? Could that also be a possibility? Or is an exhaust for gibbos ferrari the only option here?

What's it to you anyway? Its a free forum, I'm sure you can chuck them a fiver every month instead of the ads. Or go elsewhere, up to you.
 
Feedback - It sucks and will reduce use of forum and impact my view on the OC Brand +1 to this as it's ridiculous.
