Suggest Internal 2.5" Hard Drive

1TB HDD on my laptop went kaput today, would appreciate input as to what the best value replacement about is at the moment? Ideally I'd like to go up to 2TB but don't want to break the bank.

Literally have no clue what I'm doing.

They're fairly generic. With laptop drives IIRC you tend to have the opportunity to choose between 5400-5900 RPM and 7200 RPM.

But apart from that the brand / model won't make much difference. I tend to pick the cheapest one with a 3-5 year warranty.
 
Do you need all that space?

If a 256GB SSD will do, I'd highly recommend getting one instead. The speed will blow you away.

If you're sticking with a hard drive, can't go far wrong with Western Digital Blue drives.

I have a Samsung M9T 2TB 9.5mm in my laptop and its been very good. If you want 2TB and your laptop can fit a 9.5mm drive, thinks it the only one available.

I agree with what bledd. said.

I would get a 250GB or 500Gb Samsung 850 Evo and then if you need more storage put it on a portable external drive. The speed you will gain from doing this will be huge!
