Hey guys, I wondered what your thoughts on this were, Im a player on the Ragnaros realm and I often frequent the forums, but, a member of a guild on the server, was kicked and then proceeded to try and take his own life, thought it may make for interesting discussion on here.

Quite insane and sad really, you must be off your rocker in the first place

The realm forum post - http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=5103073882&sid=1

I've heard of similar things in happening in Japan. I think somebody was also sent to jail for murder / attempted murder a while back after a disagreement over something that happened over a computer game.

Absolutely nuts, no mention why he was banned or anything?

It's a pretty sad state the world is getting to when people attempt to kill themselves over what is a game. Also shame on the dude lazing the guilt trip, if wow didn't drive him to kill himself then something else would have

I didn't really read the link within the link but all I can confidently say is that the guy obviously has problems that have nothing to do with WoW.

You may be right.

I would like to inform you that Girlfriend attempted suicide today, he was very close to success. We don't know yet if he will make it.

I hope you guys are happy now. It was your, rather devastating descision to ban him from Invictus, taking away the last bit of stability in life he had, pushing him over the edge.

From here.

Are they trying to make some sort of a suicide pact now? The guys seriously needs to see someone, he definitely needs more of those "stabilities" in life and you know you're trouble when a game is that last stability.

He obviously has problem IRL, then the guild gave him stability and he found it easier to speak to people online (which he struggled to do, due to anxiety, IRL). Once that stability just got ripped from beneath the poor guy he just crumbled.

Sounds like thats exactly what it was. A real shame :(

What are they going to do, they spend too much time in doors, id break them :p

Is a shame some people are this nervous and unconfident IRL, despite my comments i do have sympathy for the guy!

The sun would make their pasty skin bake. The only person i know who plays WoW coincidently is ginger, has long greasy hair, has a spotty face and the sun hurts his eyes. He's a lovely kid but WoW has ruined his life :(

mentally unstable, Them trying to blame the clan , last thing to tip him over the edge. Well why the hell didn't you get him help.

Social Anxiety Disorder is a crippling mental illness. It takes years of therapy and drugs to make it bearable, but in my opinion it is not curable.

Things like games, with minimal or structured social interaction (personally I think that SAD is a result of a brain/mind that can only cope with structure and rationality - unfortunately life is mainly unstructured and irrational), do become the only thing you can cope with in life so I can fully understand it being the reason for his being pushed over the edge.

But the thing is he's tried to take his own life because of one game, there's a million and one things he could have done to keep him from the madness of the world. If the one game that you loved was taken away, would you be a bit upset or would you kill yourself?

Very true.

Although I think it was probbably one of those cry for help suicides, not a real attempt.

If you want to do it, you'll do it with certainty.

Life is what you make of it, seems he wanted to live a crap life, you can either put up with it or try and move on.

And tried to kill himself, if I was going to commit suicide I would succeed first time none of this half arsein about, it was either a cry for help but if he needs help there is only one person that can help him and that is himself.
