Suicide outside my office

There's a quote in that article that doesn't seem right...

Mahesh Gurung said: “She fell slowly at first, then I heard this scream."
Does he mean she speeded up towards the end of her fall...?

Terrible waste, though. My sympathies go to her family.

i'd take it as the perspective thing of it being in slow motion at the start and then he heard the scream and thud

I've seen a few people land and burst on the ground - it's not pleasant, especially if their ribs puncture through :(

Skydiving's not always fun and games.

Suicide is always so sad.

Even after people have posted about gravitational acceleration? If you jump off a step, do you hit the ground at the same speed as if you jump off your roof?

no. a falling body (we are ignoring air-resistance!) will accellerate at 9.80665ms^-2, which means that your speed will increase by 9.80665 meters per second, every second you are falling.

there is then Terminal velocity, which is the speed where accelleration due to gravity and the air-resistance cancel each other out, and from then untill you hit the ground your speed is constant.
