Suit brand hierarchy

I couldn't tell you what a good suit brand is. But I've had a few from Moss bros and they've been fine. I wouldn't spend £500 on a suit due to lack of use and it won't fit in a year.

I also struggle to get into a lot of suits due to my size and weird proportions (deformed from bodybuilding), their ones always fit well with some alterations.

However, as mentioned, I don't wear them often at all. They are usually for occasions once or twice a year.

When I worked in an office, i had some Marks and Spencer suits which were pretty good too.

What's the occasion?
How often you going to wear it?

If the answer is not often and you are not the groom, I'd just find a big m and s and try their suits, cheaper and alright!

I bought a nice 3 piece Hugo Boss suit back when I was a big swinging **** in the city. Wore it at one wedding, then some moths ate it. True story.

I wouldn't worry about brands, if you're buying off the rack, the important thing is it actually fits you. Nothing looks worse than a badly-fitted suit. Doesn't matter how expensive it is, if the fit is terrible, you'll look like a pillock.

Brand is irrelevant if it fits like you're a child wearing your dad's suit.

A cheap well fitting suit is going to be infinitely more quality looking than a £1k ill fitting suit.

If you've got a slaters near by they're worth a visit, stock something for all price ranges but more importantly will alter it to fit for free

A tailor told me (presumably wanting more business) that you should buy an off the peg suit and have it tailored. Comes in cheaper, apparently.

I think my 2 cost around 100.

Its extremely rare I need to wear a suit. So no way I'd spend much on them.

I have a bright blue and a black. One for weddings and one for funerals.

I got an evening suit on line from Marks and Spencer. Wore it once to a Federation of Piling Specialists do in London and here it hangs.

Previously I had hired them but this was nearly as cheap to buy. However I stopped going the year after I bought it. Marks are a pretty decent fit if you are long and lanky.
