I'm sure something like this was done last year, can't see one for this year, so I'd like to start it.

My team: Aston Villa
Pre-season prediction: 9th
Actual result: 6th

Very impressed with the team this season. We did well to chase down Everton to the last day but blew a glorious chance. Young, Agbonlahor, Barry and Carew are essential players to our push for Europe next season, but to keep Barry, MON may have to make some worthwhile signings, but he doesn't fork out easily. Likes to buy decent youngsters on the cheap and give them time to progress, which works, but won't keep decent players with us. We NEED a decent keeper too. Carson is just not good enough, although I said differently at the start of the season, he looks nowhere near the standard we need.

Next season's predicition: 6th

My team: Manchester United
Pre-season prediction: 1st
Actual result: 1st

I said in the United club thread at the start of the season that I'd be happy if we didn't win anything, so long as the new boys settled in nicely and ready to fully make their mark next season. Well, they (Anderson and Nani) DID settle in nicely, and fully played their part in us winning the premiership. So in that respect I can't complain at all. I thought Rooney might have had a better season in front of goal but to be fair he's been hampered by injuries, so I expect a lot more from him next season.

In total we lost 5 games and drew a few too so its quite remarkable that we have actually won the league. Expecting it to be much harder next year and a few players might be required over the summer (striker, two fullbacks for both sides and maybe a winger).

Next season's prediction: 1st

My team: Hearts
Pre-season prediction: Top 6 (can't actually remember if I made one or not)
Actual result: 8th

Utterly utterly rubbish season, lost too many games and for a period were looking worryingly close to the relegation spots. Hearts should always be aiming for the top four places, having sold Craig Gordon, Steven Pressley, Paul Hartley and then not spending the cash hasn't really helped either.

Next season back in the top six but uncertainty will remain until the board and manager is settled properly i.e. Romanov leaves and the next owner isn't a mentalist who replaces his manager when the team is doing well and interferes unnecessarily. Still it is always nice to have a dream and if nothing else we've provided a lot of amusement for the rest of Scottish football.

My team: Sheffield United
Pre-season prediction: 18th (Due to the appointment of Robson)
Actual result: 9th (Because we got rid of Robson)

I was hugely disappointed with the team, but that was always going to be the case with an Idiot in charge. But now Blackwell is there, we can look forward to next season. We just need a decent midfielder, and to sign Cotterill permanently. And obviously, keep hold of Beattie. Which is looking quite likely now.

Next season's prediction: 2nd

Pre-season prediction: 1st
Actual result: 1st

Thought we added depth in all the right areas and would have had a perfect squad were it not for the unexpected departure of Solskjaer and the continuing problems of Saha who left us short upfront. Ronaldo surpassed all expectations after I thought he might struggle to replicate his form of the year before, and the new players all played crucial parts in the season, particularly Nani and Tevez who managed to score some incredibly important goals between them at both ends of the season. With the addition of a striker and a fullback in Summer hopefully we'll be challenging on all fronts again.

Next season's prediction: 1st (hopefully)

Decent enough season really, hard to ever moan about much when winning the league and reaching CL final. Fergie well on his was to building his next great side I think. That being said, I think we've been the weakest side to win the PL for a few years.

My team: Spurs
Pre-season prediction: 5th
Actual result: 11th
Rating: 5/10

A season of highs and lows to be honest. Awful start, couldn't find a win anywhere.. even at the best of times. Jol gets sacked and in comes Ramos. Ramos makes noticeable changes, mainly fitness etc and has a good run of form soon after he joins. Spurs then go on to win the Carling Cup, which i have to say was awesome.. some brilliant results to get there (5-1 gooners !) Then after that the season was just pathetic. All the players bar Robbie Keane just didn't seem up for it at all. It was frustrating to watch and with all the speculation of berbs going etc it just demoralised the team almost. We went back to the old spurs of giving the ball away and just constantly drawing and finishing mid table. I'm extremely glad the season is over and i can't wait for the new signings to come in and the new season to start.

I disagree, I think the standard is becoming much, much higher and teams will begin to lose more games as competition increases. This year we had 3 teams challenging from start to finish more or less, with Liverpool (gasp) showing promise of maybe stepping up a level to compete with their end of season form. The more top teams there are, the more likely losses will become and teams will be putting emphasis on winning more games with a draw seemingly never being enough. Look at Chelsea, they only lost 3 games but they drew a stupid number of games at home and that's what lost them the league. It's for that reason that I don't think a team will win the Premiership in the next few years without losing at least 3 or 4 games along the way.

My Team: Partick Thistle
Pre-Season Prediction: Mid-table
Result: Mid-table :o

After having Dick Campbell as manager last season mid-table was probably about right for what we could hope for, since we really wanted to avoid relegation. Also had a decent cup run this season and got put out by Rangers 2-0 after taking them to a replay.

Hoping for top-four finish next season as it's a difficult division to get out of.

Next season's prediction: 3rd.

My team: Man United
Pre-season prediction: 2nd
Actual result: 1st

I thought it miight take a bit longer for our new signings to bed in and be a season of mini transition for us. Obviously we've exceeded my expectations in where we've finished and our CL run has been great as well. The new signings have all done well and deeply improved our squad depth. Saying that i think i preferred last seasons style of play a bit more even though this season we've been a bit more solid. I don't think we've consistently enough achieved brilliance really although oddly i would say we are the best team in europe. a couple of signings here and there and we're set for next season.

My team: Liverpool
Pre-season prediction:3rd
Actual result: 4th

Torres has been immense, doubt we would've even got top 6 without him. Not sure were we go from here to start challenging Man U and Chelsea for top 2 though.

Team: Spurs
Prediction: UEFA Cup spot via the league
Actual: 11th

The season started and ended in absolute disaster. Jol was sacked after a string of bad performances. Was Jol's ability to blame or was it a combination of lack of board support and a run of tough fixtures? My opinion is that it's definitely the latter.

Ramos came in to replace Jol in the most dignifying way possible. That was soon forgotten as things began to swing in Spurs' favour. Memorable wins over Arsenal and Chelsea in the Carling Cup made sure that Spurs will end the season with more silverware than Liverpool or Arsenal. Ramos was widely praised his fitness regime and for his bold tactical substitutions.

After the Carling Cup win, things went downhill fast. Spurs went out of the UEFA Cup on penalties and only a 4-0 win of West Ham and a 4-4 draw with Chelsea gave any relief on a run of incredibly poor results. Berbatov, like many of the Spurs players, didn't look interested and the goals dried up.

If Ramos doesn't achieve 5th place and a cup win next season, Spurs fans might begin to see the folly in sacking Jol. Like always with Spurs, there's an expectation that we'll spend big over the summer and maybe next year will be the year...

Team Stoke
Hoped for play offs
Got automatic promotion

Peter Coates (the chairman) really backed the manager and the manager did not let us down. Selling Higginbottom to Sunderland and spending the money on Shawcross, Cort and Whelan proved to be an excellent piece of business. It's probably been the best season we have had for 25 years.

Didn’t honestly expect to win the league this season but was disappointed to be out of the race so early, yet again. Tbh next season is all about the premiership. We need to make a sustained effort to keep with in touching distance of the top and come the end of the season be in with a shout. I’m sick of seeing the slump in form around October time. This year it was a run of 5 draws in 7 games, against some week opposition. You just can’t afford to drop that may point so early on.

The tail end of the season was blighted by board room antics, of the like I’ve never seen before. If this is settled within the next few weeks and significant funds are made available to buy a couple of match winning, world class players I think we’ll be there or there abouts at the end of next season.

I don't think it really matters where we finish, so long as we're no more than 3 point behind the eventual winners.

For me its been a very dissapointing season. Apart from the positives from the CL (A late own-goal stopped us from being in the final) and the new boy Torres, the season has been pretty underwhelming. Especially over the winter season which I still cannot fully grasp what actually happened.

People can say it was the off-pitch chaos which caused the drop in performance, but nothing can explain the utter horrid football we "played" during that time. Benitez failed during this time and was unable to pick the team up. I never want to see such football again, it was a total lack of understanding from everyone on the pitch.

The thing is we have gained no ground in the game of "catch-up" with Man U and Chelsea, even with the addition of Torres. This is not going to change anytime soon with the team we have. We NEED to get more players of Gerrards, Torres and Maschereno's quality if we want it to change.

This summer is very important for us, and if Benitez understands that we have too many average players then things should get better next season.

2009 PL prediction: 3rd again, but maybe 2nd depending on where our money goes.

I thought we were better than Liverpool looking at the squads in pre-season and expected to finish a place higher, which in the end we did. Only ended finishing 4 points behind the eventual winners which I would have took at the start of the season. I must say I was very disappointed after Christmas though as I thought we had a cracking chance to win the whole thing. After the draw at Birmingham after what Eduardo it just took it out of us. I don't know why it affected us so badly or maybe that was an excuse for the poor form afterwards. Its just annoying that a couple or three of those draws could have turned into wins and we would have ended up champions. The champions league was disappointing especially with Liverpool ending up going out the next round. We were minutes away from the semis.

Been another great season for the young guys stepping up to the plate though. Flamini has been great and its a shame he's gone but like others before him he will be replaced. Clichy has been the best left back in the league maybe the world in my eyes and a future captain. Fabregas' goals did dry up but he has still be world class throughout.

We need to sort out another Striker as v.Persie is just so injury plagued. If he gets fit him and Ade will run riot next season hopefully. Need a left footed winger as Rosicky is again always injured. We also need to keep the rest of the squad expect from maybe Lehmann going. Looking forward to seeing Randall more though.
