Sum up your team's season!

Team: Liverpool
Predicted: 1st :D
Actual: 4th

I kind of jumped on to the bandwagon and thought we could actually win it and thought Torres was way to expesive and would flop which he did not.

We need an "expensive" winger and a "good" striker; if Rafa doesnt win anything next season, I think its time for him to go.

Team : Reading
Prediction : 12th
Actual : 18th and relegated (there I said it :()

Season started OK, but never really got going. We had injuries to key players (Little), didn't replace key departures soon enough (Sidwell), and key players lost form (Doyle).

Put simply we did not perform against Teams around us, lost 6 points to Bolton and Fulham, one of which would have saved us, all of which would have put us where I predicted.

There were some high points, beating Liverpool being one, and the signing of Marksjpsyudtgf...Dave from some Czech side.

Next season depends on what happens this week. Coppell stays, most of the squad stays (Hunt and Shorey will go, debate about the rest) then I think we can win the Championship (although not with 106 points as we did last time), if the Manager goes, then a lot of players will follow, and we will struggle to make the play offs.

Prediction : Top 4
Actual : 2nd, automatic promotion :D

Season summary: As quoted from Colin Calderwood himself - "Job Done!"

Next season predictions: Initially survival, hopefully top 10.

I just wish he was more positive and attacking.

For me its been a very dissapointing season. Apart from the positives from the CL (A late own-goal stopped us from being in the final) and the new boy Torres, the season has been pretty underwhelming. Especially over the winter season which I still cannot fully grasp what actually happened.

People can say it was the off-pitch chaos which caused the drop in performance, but nothing can explain the utter horrid football we "played" during that time. Benitez failed during this time and was unable to pick the team up. I never want to see such football again, it was a total lack of understanding from everyone on the pitch.

The thing is we have gained no ground in the game of "catch-up" with Man U and Chelsea, even with the addition of Torres. This is not going to change anytime soon with the team we have. We NEED to get more players of Gerrards, Torres and Maschereno's quality if we want it to change.

This summer is very important for us, and if Benitez understands that we have too many average players then things should get better next season.

2009 PL prediction: 3rd again, but maybe 2nd depending on where our money goes.

Spot on,Im very disappointed and depressed tbh, weve had the best striker at Anfield since 'God' and still we are miles off the pace, weve made no ground up at all on the teams above us.

Benitez, as much as I love him, just seems intent on 'strengthening' the team in the wrong area's, we dont ****ing need players like Barry.Blood some of the young lads he's been buying, and buy the players we actually need.I just cant see us winning the league in the next 3 years, and with the ****'s in the boardroom, we risk really falling behind the Manc's.

Team: Newcastle
Predicted: Can't really remember really, something like 6/7/8th?
Actual: 12th

Some of Allardyce's signings were pathetic, Rozenhal, Cacapa and Smith are all crap really. Barton and Enrique were bad to begin with but have both been really good recently. Beye was a class signing, he's been amazing most games, one of the best RBs in the league. If Owen and Martins stay and we sign 3-4 good players I don't see why we can't get the 6/7/8th that I mentioned above, the teams around that area really aren't that great.

I also think Harper should keep his place ahead of Given as he's been class for a lot of games.

Team: Glasgow Rangers
Prediction: 1st
Actual 1st or 2nd (not finished yet)

Rangers probably had one of their worse season under Paul Le Guen. He should have kept his pundit role on French tele. Good to see him bringing down PSG and showing the world how not to manage a team.

Cant believe the season we've had. On for the quadruple with my team facing Zenit St Petersburg managed by the ex manager of my team Dick Advocaat.
Manchester is the place to be and I only wish I could be there.

Win, Lose or Draw in the UEFA cup, our season has been great even overachieving what the gaffer had realistically hoped for and giving us Rangers fans the opportunity of a major cup final it hasn't seen since 1972. 'mon the gers!!

Team: Man Utd

Predicition 2nd

Actual: Champions

Before the start of this season I predicted it would be one of transition with some of the older players being managed out and the younger players being managed in. Very happy that the young players integrated quite well.

I would also say that it was one of the most satisfying again because of the great big two fingers stuck up by us (and to a lesser extent Chelsea) to the gutter press. Three or four games in we were written off the length and breadth of the land. Liverpool had finally got their **** together and this would definately definately definately be their year. Arsenal were going to walk the title by at least 20 points. Chelsea would implode and be lucky to finish in the top half. How wrong they have been, AGAIN !!. But enough of my self indulgence in mocking the press.

A good year of football from us that proved attacking and exciting football does actually exist outside the Emirates. Tevez along with Anderson have endered themselves to the fans perfectly. Our little Argentinian is doing the job we bought Smith to do and boy does he do it beyond what is expected.

As for next season, it's a tough one to call. We can't rely on another 20-40 goal haul from Ronaldo. Our success will be delivered next year on who we buy in to keep the squad fresh. With the right purchases to strengthen the forward line and defence, then I think Fergie would like to retain the title to put us on par with Liverpool

Great start to the season and up until the B'ham game I really thought it was going to be a truly memorable season, but the title hopes broke along with Eduardo's leg and what followed that is just something I am still unable to work out.

Now with Flamini gone (arguably this season's top performer, certainly in the melee with Fab, Clichy and Sagna) and Hleb umm'ing and ahh'ing, next season isn't looking nearly as promising as it should have. Had Arsenal kept Flam and Hleb stays I would have said 1st next year with some smart additions, now though I'm unsure. If Wenger buys brilliantly in the summer and Hleb stays I think 1st for next season, if Hleb goes and the buying is anything short of genious, 3rd.

Team - Middlesbrough
Prediction - Mid table
Actual - 13th

Mixed bag to be honest, from the highs of beating Arsenal 2 - 1 to the lows of loosing 3 - 0 to Birmingham back to a good draw at Arsenal again 1 - 1 and then we played Manchester united off the park and only drew 2 - 2 followed by the shoddy display against Cardiff.

Overall I would say we are moving forward slowly but I feel we have the beginnings of a great and gracious manager in Southgate and who can forget the 8 - 1 win against Man City on the last day where we witnessed arguably 2 or 3 of the finest goals scored all season.

As a Boro fan i would give them 7/10 and am mostly happy

Team - Ipswich Town
Prediction - 15-18th
Actual 8th

At the start of the season I did not expect anything, we had a fairly weak team, no money and a in-experienced manager. However we were awesome at home which allowed us to climb the table.

if we had won a few more away games(we only won 3 all season) we'd probably been looking at automatic. compare our home form to our away form doesn't make sense.

But things are looking up for next season, we now have some investment in Marcus Evans, 12million to spend this summer and a good platform to build on.

My team: Arsenal
Pre-season prediction: 1st
Actual result: 3rd

Started off well and was going so well for quite a while and then fell towards the end after Eduardo's injury and Gallas' hissy fits. Just need a bigger team end of, not sure what to think about next season after 4 years without a title.

Next season: top four

Team: Leeds
Pre-season prediction: mid-table with a hope of playoffs
Actual result: Walked into the automatic promotion spot in an unbelievable season and had it taken from us

If we can keep the majority of the players that got us there (I'm truly hoping Freedman will stay with us alongside Beckford) we'll walk the league next season if we don't achieve promotion through the playoffs.

Is the squad good enough to go up and stay up Gilly ? Would funds be available for strengthening the team

Team - Aberdeen
Prediction - top 6
Actual - 4th to 6th. Season not finished yet.

A good run in the UEFA Cup had the small team from the North East of Scotland feared in Europe for at least a week. Can the last game of the SPL deny Rangers the leauge? Lets hope so. :D

Team - Fulham
Prediction - 18th
Actual - 17th

Seeing that Lawrie was appointed, knew it wasnt going to be a good season, started off OK, got worse then on. Woy appointed and were playing good football and it got better from there, after being relegated twice in the City game, and also during the Pompey game it was unbelievable to stay up considering they were dead and buried a few weeks ago.

There's a lot of talk around saying that agreements with previous creditors are what has kept money away from the club, and a lot of them time out this close season. If this is true there could be a fair amount of investment on the way. I know Shepherd (:() has been knocking about again.

I wouldn't say it was good enough to go up and be mid-table, but the bare bones are there. Ankergren is easily good enough for top-end Championship level, Michalik held his own in the Prem, Huntington the same, Bradley Johnson and Frazer Richardson have the talent but need to mature. That's the back sorted.

We need more quality down the wings. In the game against Carlisle we had six centre-mids on the field at one point. We have really good centre mids, but need more creativity. Kilkenny does his bit but it's not enough.

Beckford, Kandol and Freedman aren't bad, but Freedman is the only real quality there. We need someone else in.

Team - West Ham
predicition - 12th

It's hard to moan about mid table safety after last years great escape. But I will :) I miss the excitement. Now we're looking like the new Charlton, rather than plucky underdogs who used to win over the neutrals with flowing, exciting football. Maybe the whole Tevez thing turned a few off us.

Injury situation has been horrific. I hope the entire medical team is sacked.
Looking forward to seeing a fit Dyer, Ashton, Bellamy, Faubert all playing. Lots of pace and class there for entertaining football.

2nd time I had to type this out, this is the short inarticulate version.
