Very good. He's more of a second striker sort of player, rather than a poacher/Van Persie type of player. He has the vision, creativity and flair to do well in many top teams. Jovetic along with Ljajic have created a very good front pair for Fiorentina this season, but none of them are real strikers.
I feel he can fit in well in some sort of 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-3 formation, playing behind a lone striker (Giroud) and near Podolski. Midfield can be formed by Cazorla, Wilshere, Arteta.
FOR **** SAKE STOP COMMENTING ON **** YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. I SWEAR YOU JUST LIKE ARGUMENTS. **** OFF.
I see one person arguing, you, where was I arguing, its called discussion and while you think you have the ownership on watching Serie A therefore know everything, you're ignoring one thing, he's not going to another Serie A side and your analysis shows how daft your assumption is.
Arsenal won't play a 4-3-2-1 and it wouldn't suit the existing players, he also won't play behind a lone striker in Giroud in a 4-3-3, because he's going to Arsenal. We just gave Walcott a 100k a week contract, he's a STARTER, therefore Giroud + Podolski + Walcott leaves zero room for Jovetic, but while suggesting stupid things Wenger WON'T DO while calling other people ignorant, why not think a little before you make daft suggestions.
Likewise, read what I said, Giroud is IN NO WAY A LONE STRIKER, his best games have come when he's had significant support and Podolski running ahead of him, his best play comes exactly the same way Jovetic plays... AND ARSENAL DON'T PLAY THAT WAY. When Podolski has gotten close enough to Giroud and Giroud has played the support role and played people in behind has mostly been against woeful teams where Arsenal essentially just go all out attack. Against tougher teams Giroud has been isolated, Podolski and generally the whole midfield pushed further back, Giroud has been fairly isolated and he's been pretty poor, Arsenal do not want to and should not play Jovetic behind Giroud, because they are the same type of player and Giroud is a poor lone striker, likewise the way Arsenal play and Wenger's history with strikers is, Giroud will get benched and Jovetic will play lone striker, which from what I've seen he's really not suited for, OR we'll like 58 other central attacking midfielders and strikers, play Jovetic on the wing... another role he doesn't seem suited for.
Jovetic's best play, is in the same way Giroud plays best, and it isn't the way Arsenal actually play, so Jovetic would be a REPLACEMENT for a guy we've just spent 12mil on, who isn't doing very well because Arsenal don't play in a way that suits that player, so putting in a better player who costs at least twice as much who still won't be playing in a position/role that suits him is utterly stupid.
Jovetic might work in another team, but not with the current Arsenal players nor the way Arsenal play, I also quantified this with the possibility Wenger could utterly revamp the team and play in a different way, but you have to factor in Wenger's lack of tactical changes in the past, 15 years, the lack of showing a willingness to change his ways quickly or majorly with one major change in his whole time at Arsenal moving from a stupidly offensive 4-4-2 to a hasn't worked well since then 4-3-3.
Most of my post is specifically about how a player like Jovetic would fit into the current Arsenal team, and without Jovetic being absolutely stunningly brilliant in his role, replacing Giroud who we have just spent 12mil on with another player without believing he would signifcantly and massively change the team is just madness.
If anything as we HAVE Giroud and paid for Giroud he would be the guy we should drop back and we should be going after a genuine 20+ league goal a season finisher, not a replacement for a player of a type we already have.
Arsenal's biggest problem is Wenger, for 8 years we've been buying strikers and pushing them out wide. Bendtner played more as a right winger than a striker in his last full season at Arsenal, a right winger... Bendtner, slow, big and having been effective as a striker before. Vela, Eduardo, Podolski, Giroud at times, Walcott, Santi(at times, more as the season went on), Arshavin, Rosicky(for his first few seasons), over and over again. Hell, Henry was shoved out wide by Wenger, just at Monaco, he fixed that when he came to Arsenal, it worked that once so he's tried it on almost every striker since. Wiltord and Bergkamp even got shoved out wide pretty often. With 15 years of buying strikers and playing them wide for no apparent reason, is it worth spending another 24mil( probably with potential bonuses, which we likely won't ever have to pay

), on yet another big striker who plays in a withdrawn position that doesn't suit Arsenal, that 3-4 players previously have been bought for but the position not used, who will likely get shoved upfront on his own with little support or shoved out wide, neither being his favoured position... 24mil for a guy good in a particular role that we do not use?
