See, now its 'mismanagement'. Because, presumably its okay to use this word now Fergie is no longer active manager?

When he was playing rooney on the wing, or Rafael in midfield, or jones in midfield, or smalling at RB it was just good old Fergie rotating his players. And it was me at fault because fergie has won everything.

I've watched Kagawa well enough, like I say, he is quite neat and tidy. Influential on a game as a whole? Not so much.

Last match, second half I think, the ball broke to him near the half way line. No one (as I recall) was marking him and he could have turned and ran right at their defence, but instead he just passed it back into trouble in towards our centrebacks. I so wanted to make a gif.

Make a gif of the goal he scored, his contribution to another and the three goals we conceded after he went off while you're at it, eh...

Kagawa always hugs the touchline, swinging in crosses when we play him on the left wing.

He doesn't play an inside left position for us at all and he never tucks in when we lose the ball to create a 4 man midfield.

He also never plays there for Japan, in fact, thank **** Nick has noticed all this, postcard to Mr Moyes, Old Trafford.

Get on it Nick, you genius.

Kagawa is a central player, no idea why he's been put out wide

He's not for Christ sake, we play him in the left wide position but he rarely stays there, he drifts in much like Mata/Silva/Hazard/Oscar do when they are set up on Sky sports as playing on the left/right.

Just because he is put there in the fancy graphics at the start of a game doesn't mean that's where he plays. Every time I've seen him this season apart from one or 2 games where he has been behind the striker, he's drifted in off the left, that doesn't automatically make him a winger.

£15m for Carroll? More than pleasantly surprised with the speed the deal was agreed and size of the fee. After the injury hit season he's had, I'm stunned that West Ham have been so willing to do a deal.

Now agree to the move Andy - you won't get into our side and Newcastle are a mess. The nightlife in London is much better than up north too.

edit: On Kagawa - there's some great quotes from Klopp on him (and so much more) in an interview he gave the Guardian.

Here it is for those that haven't read it:

I'm not sure I've loved somebody as much as Klopp that has no connection to Liverpool.

I think this is where Nicks obsession with him has come from tbh.

Klopp is excellent though and he is welcome to his opinion, what Klopp failed to notice though was Rooney swanning round in the 10 role.

If Rooney moves on we will see Kagawa behind RvP/Hernandez in that role, he would be useless next to Carrick in a 2 man midfield hence why he's been coming on from the left.

I'm not really bothered with the tactical side of what Klopp said, just the way he expresses himself. I can just imagine him and Kagawa hugging and crying for 20 minutes :p

Surely he is one player who is sure to be moved on this summer?

Who would want him though? He is barely qualifies as a footballer.

Stoke beckons surely?

After Arsenal qualified for the Champions League, an Arsenal supporting friend posted up something about the Mertesacker/Koscielny partnership being unbeaten all season. If that's true, that's remarkable... and if Szczęsny played most, if not all, of those games, it goes to show that he can do the job if he has a solid partnership in front of him, does it not?

I rate Kos even with his mix start to his career but I constantly worry when Mert gets the ball. They have had a good run together but I wouldnt be against them splitting up and getting in someone new or maybe verm coming back to the player he was.

I really like the look of Kos and Mert together, and I like them both as players a lot - But I wouldn't be against a new defender brought in, if it was someone of top class quality - To replace Vermaelen though, not either of the other 2.

It depends on what we can get for him. Despite what I said, he's actually not done too bad in the 2nd half of the season and isn't a bad player to have in the squad. If a reasonable offer comes in for him I think we'll accept it, the problem will be convincing him to leave though as I can't imagine any club he might join being able to pay him the £50-60k per week he's getting now.

Mertesacker is decent, he didn't have a fantastic start but he's pressed on and done quite well. Unfortunately he isn't exactly blessed with pace so if he makes a mistake it's usually magnified 10 fold but on the whole his positioning and tackling are good and he's a pretty decent passer of the ball as well. He certainly doesn't panic when he gets it and I'm looking forward to seeing how he does next season alongside Koscielny. Vermaelen can go as far as I'm concerned, not really sure why he was given the captaincy in the first place.

Vermaelen was made captain because he had two good seasons (injury one in between was a write off), had a good presence about him on the pitch, was reasonably experienced, plays in a central position, speaks good english and was one of the best players at the club. It was the correct choice IMO.

Definitely don't want him to leave, even if he can't get in the side he would still be the best backup CB and LB at the club. He was shaky this season but I still believe arguably him and Koscielny could be the best pairing, perhaps when Mertesacker gets injured or suspended he will take his chance.

I don't think Mertersacker is as bad as some make out; HOWEVER his lack of pace is a concern and he isn't as dominant in the air as he should be given his height (more Peter Crouch than Andy Carroll). In terms of ability Vermaelen is better, in terms of form this season perhaps not but who knows moving forward.

In terms of prospective transfers I'm a bit torn, my heart says we should focus on offloading deadwood to get the wage bill down, my head says there is a growing threat from Spurs and Liverpool for 4th spot and we should spend on a couple of players that would improve the team to retain it.
